I know it’s not the holiday season, but this felt like the right time to share a special recognition.

For the past 13 years, Steve Gralish has served as the McLeod County Toys for Tots Director, dedicating countless hours to ensuring children and families in need experienced the joy of the holidays. During his leadership, Steve helped collect hundreds of thousands of toys and directly supported thousands of families across our communities. His impact reached far beyond McLeod County, as he also led and coordinated the Toys for Tots program in Kandiyohi County, expanding the reach of this mission and strengthening partnerships throughout the region.

Steve’s commitment was never just about toys—it was about dignity, hope, and showing up for families when they needed it most. His compassion, organization, and tireless work ethic built programs that many families came to rely on year after year.

As Steve steps down from his role, we want to recognize and thank him for more than a decade of selfless service. His legacy will continue through the families he helped, the volunteers he inspired, and the strong foundation he built for Toys for Tots in our communities. Thank you, Steve, for your unwavering dedication and for making a lasting difference in so many lives.

In the coming months, a new coordinator will step into this role, but the impact of what Steve has built will continue to live on. The foundation he created ensures that the mission of Toys for Tots in McLeod County will remain strong for years to come.

The McLeod County Toys for Tots page will announce the new coordinator once they are officially named by the Toys for Tots Foundation. In addition, a new Toys for Tots website dedicated specifically to McLeod County will be launched in the future to better serve our community.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, and supported Toys for Tots over the years. Your generosity has made a lasting difference for countless families, and we look forward to continuing this important work together in the years ahead.

From all of us at McLeod Toys for Tots, thank you to everyone who supported this year’s toy drive. Your generosity, time, and community spirit truly made a difference. Because of you, we were able to meet the needs of children of all ages—including teens, who are so often overlooked.
We are incredibly grateful for the strong community involvement shown by our donors, parishioners, businesses, and volunteers. A special thank you to United Community Action Partnership (UCAP) for their continued dedication and tireless work in helping those in need throughout McLeod County.
At this time, all toys have been distributed and all collection boxes have been picked up. While this season’s drive has wrapped up, please know that you can message McLeod Toys for Tots year-round with questions, ideas, or ways to get involved in the future.

I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by today. Our toy drive was an incredible success because of your generosity.

A special, heartfelt thank you to Sgt. Solsvig from the Hutchinson Marines Recruitment Office. It was an honor to work alongside him, and I was truly humbled by the support you showed—from your donations, to your expressions of gratitude for his service, to the personal stories many of you shared. Thank you all.

If you weren’t able to make it today, there’s still time to donate. You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any of our Toys for Tots locations throughout McLeod County.

Another location has been added to McLeod Toys for Tots! DG Market in Glencoe has just received a donation box.

Thinking about donating? Below is the current list of drop-off locations in McLeod County. Please remember that all toys must be new and unwrapped. Every toy donated to McLeod Toys for Tots stays in McLeod County and supports United Community Action Partnership’s (UCAP) Holiday Project. Cash donations are also welcome and go directly toward helping local children.

Please keep in mind that we help children of all ages. Many teens get forgotten so I ask while you're shopping for Toys for Tots suggested items for the girls could be Hair dryers, make up kits, bath gift packs, purses, jewelry, etc. For the boys, Shaving kits, Calonge gift packs, wallets, etc. For both, what about Sports? Pickle ball, Tennis, basketball, etc. Fishing, camping. And don't forget about Games. There are many games out there for that age group. Again, we can't stress that the teens tend to be forgotten. Let's make this Christmas be great for all ages.
