This week, Alcorn Central FFA members traveled to Mississippi State University for the 93rd Mississippi State FFA Convention!

Students attending were Brittney Willingham, Estrella Lopez, Kenslei Baswell, and Braxton Willingham.

We are proud to recognize Kenslei Baswell, who received a plaque for her team's outstanding accomplishment of placing 2nd in the Farm and Agribusiness Management CDE. Congratulations to Azul Morales and Lacy Cartee on earning their State FFA Degrees, one of the highest honors a state association can bestow upon its members.

Throughout the convention, students had the opportunity to hear from Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture Andy Gipson about the future of agriculture in our state. They also joined in celebrating Alcorn County United Way Director Kelli Hefner as she received her Honorary State FFA Degree.

The convention was filled with leadership, recognition, fellowship, and fun. Students enjoyed a special concert by Sam L. Smith, spent time with fellow FFA members from across Mississippi, and, of course, enjoyed some great food while in Starkville!

We are proud of our students and their accomplishments and look forward to another great year in FFA. 💙💛

Alcorn Central High School FFA hosted a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast to honor the amazing educators who invest so much in our students each day.

FFA members, alongside staff, planned, cooked, and prepared a delicious breakfast as a way to show their gratitude. This event was a small way to give back to those who continuously support, guide, and inspire our students to succeed.

We are thankful for our teachers and all they do to make Alcorn Central a great place to learn and grow! 💙💛

Congratulations to our teams that competed on Friday! 🎉👏
The Farm Business Management team earned an impressive 2nd place in the state 🥈, and the Floriculture team placed 10th in the state 🌸🌿. We are so proud of your hard work and dedication! 💙

Today we traveled to Mississippi State University to compete in the FFA State Contest Day! 🎉🐄🌾

Now we wait until Monday to find out the results—fingers crossed for these hardworking students! 🤞💙💛
A trip to Starkville isn’t complete without lunch at The Little Dooey 🍽️, and we topped off the day with some delicious ice cream 🍦😋. A great day all around!

Yesterday our students competed at the North District FFA Contest! 🌾💙

In the Opening and Closing Contest, our team members were:

Treasurer – Braxton Willingham
Reporter – Logan Cartee
Sentinel – Alex Fuentes
Student Advisor – Luke Gahagan

Also competing in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking contest was Azul Morales. 🎤

We are proud of all of our students for representing our chapter and for the hard work they put into preparing for these events!

Tonight, our FFA members — Daniel Roach, Levi Lambert, and Luke Gahagan — competed in the calf scramble at the rodeo at the Crossroads Arena, and they were the Saturday night winners! 🎉🐄
We are so proud of their hard work and determination in the arena.
Congratulations to the overall winner, Alcorn County Career and Technical Center! 👏

Tonight at the rodeo at Crossroads Arena, Emmalee Starnes and Levi Lambert, with the assistance of Landon Basden from Biggersville, competed in the calf scramble.
All three students gave it their all but came up just short of catching a calf. We are so proud of their hard work and determination!

Congratulations to Kossuth for getting first place tonight! 🏆
