Dinosaur Valley - Paluxy River Protection Alliance

Dinosaur Valley - Paluxy River Protection Alliance We support reliable electricity, but not at the cost of Glen Rose. Protect the Paluxy River, Dinosaur Valley, and our communityโ€™s natural beauty.

The Dinosaur-Longshore line is a high-capacity transmission line that Oncor intends to build as part of the Public Utility Commission of Texasโ€™ (PUCT) Permian Basin Reliability Plan. We understand how important reliable electricity is for families and businesses. We are not trying to stop Oncor from building their line. We are only asking them not to destroy Glen Rose in the process. One proposed

route would run through Glen Rose, allowing Oncor to build towers 200-feet wide in the riverbed, destroying dinosaur tracks and clearcutting trees around Dinosaur Valley State Park. This is the only route that impacts a state park. The Dinosaur-Longshore line will not benefit the people of Glen Rose. It is being built to benefit the Permian Basin area of West Texas, not our local community, and it will not bring new jobs to the area. We cannot stop Oncor from building the line, but we can advocate for a route that does not destroy Glen Rose. Oncor has two other potential routes that do not run through Glen Rose. Choosing either would save our priceless dinosaur tracks and preserve the natural beauty of this unique part of Texas.

๐Ÿšจ IS THIS THE FUTURE BLACK MOUNTAIN POWER LLC WANTS FOR GLEN ROSE? ๐Ÿšจ

โ“WHY IS OUR STATE PARK NOT BEING PROTECTED FROM THIS IMMEDIATE THREAT? โ“

โ€‹Look at these two photos. One is the Dinosaur Valley State Park we know, love, and cherish. The other is a terrifying glimpse into what happens if Black Mountain Power LLC gets their way with a massive 1,600-acre gas plant and data center project adjacent to Dinosaur Valley State Park.

โ€‹If this goes through, our park will never be the same again.
โ€‹Imagine taking your family to see the 113-million-year-old dinosaur tracks, only to have the silence shattered by the relentless roar of industrial turbines and vibrating ground. Imagine looking up at our clear Texas night sky, now choked by toxic air emissions and completely blinded by the permanent, blinding glare of 24/7 lighting. The peaceful Paluxy Valley we love will be replaced by a wall of non-stop noise, air, and light pollution, shaking our wildlife to its core and stealing the natural sanctuary our community deserves.

โ€‹๐Ÿšซ THIS IS IRRESPONSIBLE INDUSTRIALIZATION

โ€‹Why was purchasing land that shares a direct fence line with a beloved state park even considered an option?

Black Mountain Power LLC does not care about our community, our environment, or the ancient history preserved in those tracks.

โ€‹๐Ÿ“… Attend our Community Meeting & Educational Workshop:

โ€‹We have retained independent experts who will be presenting the hard facts directly to you. The facts about what this project means for our water, our wildlife, and how you can help.
โ€‹Be in the know. Stand up for Dinosaur Valley State Park. We'll see you there. ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿ’”

Next door to Dinosaur Valley State Park is no place for a 765 kV transmission line, and it is no place for a 1,600 acre data center.

On May 11, 2026, the Somervell County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to pass a resolution strongly opposing the development of future data centers in the county. The resolution calls for state agencies to adopt planning and regulatory standards that prioritize local resource sustainability, and for the Texas state legislature to prioritize legislation that provides mechanisms for local governing bodies to to participate meaningfully in land and resource use decisions.
