SAMA was honored to help patients at the Psychiatric Hospital in Vršac, one of the region’s major psychiatric care centers, by donating 50 anti-decubitus mattresses with protective covers.

For many of the patients living there, the mattresses they used every day had not been replaced in more than 30 years. Something as simple as a safe, comfortable place to rest can make an enormous difference for someone already facing difficult challenges.

This donation is about easing discomfort, helping prevent painful pressure ulcers, improving everyday living conditions, and reminding patients that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

At SAMA, we believe compassion is an essential part of healing.

Join Us on May 15th at the Park Ridge Country Club in Supporting Children Fighting Cancer and in purchasing medical equipment!

The Humanitarian Foundation Šumadija and the Serbian American Medical Association (SAMA), together with NURDOR, an organization led by parents of children battling cancer, are working to ensure children in need receive not only treatment, but also stability, dignity, and hope.

Every child deserves access to medical care, and every family deserves support during the hardest moments of their lives.

Our goal through this initiative is to raise $25K and with that, we will help provide:
• CTG medical equipment
• Housing and transportation assistance for families to hospitals during their child's treatment.

Through the mission of the Serbian American Medical Association, we continue to improve healthcare conditions across Serbia...one community at a time.

At the Health Station in Belušić (HC Rekovac), a $15,091.41 investment funded new lowered ceilings, 27 ceiling lights, and the preparation and painting of nearly 300m² or 3,229 square feet of walls and ceilings.

These upgrades have transformed the space into a brighter, cleaner, and more functional environment essentially enhancing patient comfort and supporting healthcare providers in delivering better care.

Together, we are creating dignified spaces where communities can heal.

Before → After in Rabrovo and everything that changed in between. 🌿

In Rabrovo, this clinic is where worry meets care. Where a mother brings her child…Where an elderly neighbor comes, hoping to feel just a little better.

But before, the cold came in with them.

Drafty windows. A worn-out door. Harsh winters that made an already difficult moment even harder.

Thanks to $11,214.53 in your support, that story changed. A new door and 16 windows replaced!

Now, the door closes tightly.
The windows keep the warmth in.
And every patient who walks in is met with comfort, not cold.

SAMA renovation of the Health Station in Aleksandrovo, HC Srpska Crnja

For about 3,000 people in Aleksandrovo and nearby villages, this small outpatient clinic is often the first place they turn for care, whether it’s a fever, a routine check, or help for someone who can’t travel far.

The Serbian American Medical Association (SAMA) helped transform this space into a safer, more functional clinic for both patients and staff. With $22,596.71 invested, the project included replacing 14 doors and 9 windows, repairing and repainting walls, restoring the entrance staircase, and installing a new reception desk.

Today, the clinic is once again safe and accessible for its 2,000 registered patients.
