Amina's Gift

Amina's Gift Amina's Gift provides direct funding for African children who need basic daily living necessities like food, clothes and shoes. We also pay for school fees

We also pay for school fees and transportation to local clinics to receive government provided health care and medications. We support ourselves by purchasing crafts by local artists and then reselling them. This provides employment for the local artists, who in return are able to support their families. The profits are used to support and encourage a good education for all the children in the community.

Join us October 4–5 from 12–4 p.m. in Gibsonville, NC, for an inspiring celebration of art, nature, and community.

Penumbra Farms is transforming 73 acres of wetlands, hardwood forests, and wildflower meadows into a sculpture park highlighting the rich tradition of Zimbabwean stone sculpture, alongside works from indigenous communities worldwide.

This journey is shared with Amina’s Gift, a nonprofit dedicated to providing education and healthcare for disadvantaged children in Africa. Every step through the park reflects not only the artistry of stone and wood, but also the doors of opportunity that open for the children supported by Amina’s Gift.

Come walk the trails, enjoy the sculptures, and be part of a vision that blends art, landscape, and purpose.

Word of the Day: GACACA

From Rwanda, Gacaca means “grass” — but it also refers to the traditional community courts where justice was sought not with vengeance, but with truth, reconciliation, and healing.
Held outdoors on the grass, Gacaca reminds us that justice can be human, humble, and healing.

Gacaca is where wounds met wisdom.

Youth Day – South Africa

June 16, 1976, is a reminder of the power young people hold when they stand together for change.

Today, we honor the strength, courage, and vision of South Africa’s youth—past and present. Their voices sparked a movement that still echoes across generations.

May we continue to listen, uplift, and stand beside young people as they shape the future with boldness and hope. ✊🏾
