🚨🍀 BREAKING NEWS FROM THE SHAMROCK SHINDIG BAR HOP 🍀🚨

The infamous Downriver Black Bear has officially requested a seat on our next bar hop bus… because apparently walking from bar to bar is “too much cardio.” 🐻🍻🚌

He heard the bus is packed with music, laughs, dancing, and nonstop shenanigans — and decided that sounds WAY more fun than wandering the streets looking for snacks and selfies. 😂☘️

So if you see a giant black bear in a leprechaun suit riding along with us, don’t worry… he’s just here for the good times, cold drinks, and legendary bar hop memories! 🍺🎉

While we’re not bar hopping together, we hope you’re out celebrating Cinco de Mayo in true Shamrock Shindig style!

Our favorite little leprechaun has officially traded in his green hat for a sombrero 🎩➡️🎉 and is raising a margarita to all of you! 🍹

Wherever you are, keep the spirit going—mix a little Irish luck with your fiesta fun, dance a little extra, and celebrate BIG!

Did you know Leprechauns don’t just chase pots of gold—they chase fly balls too? 🤩
Word around the rainbow is that a few of them have traded in their shillelaghs for ball caps and are headed to Comerica Park today!

Because even the luckiest little guys in green know…

✨ THANK YOU for Another AMAZING Year! ✨

Wow… just WOW! This was our biggest year yet, and we couldn’t be more grateful. All the dollars have officially been counted, and thanks to everyone—plus an extra shout-out to Riverbillies for their additional donation—Heidi and I were incredibly proud to make a $8,500 donation today to the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance on behalf of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge . 💚🐾

If you haven’t had a chance to see the incredible things they are doing right here in our own community, we highly encourage you to check them out. Go for a drive, walk the trails, fish off the pier, explore the park, or visit the amazing Visitor Center to learn more about conservation, wildlife, and the beauty of our natural spaces. And did we mention…it’s all FREE! 🌿✨

This refuge is a true gem in our backyard, and we hope this donation helps support their mission for years to come. None of this would have been possible without YOU—your participation, your support, and your enthusiasm make this event what it is.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us give back in such a meaningful way. 💚

☘️ **Shamrock Shindig Bar Hop 2026 – THANK YOU!** ☘️

Wow… what a day! The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and the green beer was flowing. 🍻💚

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped make the **Shamrock Shindig Bar Hop 2026** another incredible success. With over **600 participants**, the energy, smiles, and Irish spirit were felt all day long! While we are still tallying the final donation totals, we are proud to once again support the amazing work of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge this looks to be our largest donation yet.

The National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS) celebrates its birthday every year on March 14. On this day in 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt designated Florida's Pelican Island as the first federal bird reservation to protect brown pelicans.

Over the last 123 years, the system has expanded to include more than 570 national wildlife refuges and 38 wetland management districts (that's about 850 million acres of land and water!) These protected areas exist in all 50 states and U.S. territories, but the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge is the only international refuge in the NWRS network.

Anywhere you see the blue goose icon is probably affiliated with the NWRS. (See the upper left corner of our sign out on Jefferson Avenue, also pictured here). Happy birthday NWRS!
