Great friendships can help open the door to new possibilities.❤️

Our Building Friendship Fridays (BFFs) program helps young adults connect with peers while exploring new interests through activities like art, cooking, fitness, and volunteering. Along the way, participants build self-advocacy skills, gain confidence, and strengthen their independence in the community.

What a memorable night! 🪩🌟

Our students enjoyed a special evening at their disco-themed prom, celebrating with friends, music, food, and plenty of dancing. The excitement continued as students voted for their prom court and captured memories at fun photo stations.

Thank you to our staff for making prom such a special event for our students!

🎉 Congratulations to Sarah on her next chapter! After graduating from STEPS Clarence Center, Sarah made the decision to join Summit’s Community Prevocational Service through PACE at the University at Buffalo. She has been working on self-advocacy, hard skills, and soft skills.

“This will give me something more — more of a challenge. It gives me a chance to meet new people, too,” Sarah shared.

We’re so proud of Sarah for reaching her goals and pursuing new challenges. Thank you to the STEPS Clarence Center team for helping make this success possible. 🌟

You can help us reach our goal! ❤️ SummitAutismWalk.org

If you weren’t able to donate before the Autism Walk, there’s still time to support individuals with autism and their families. Every contribution helps fund critical programs and services at The Summit Center.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 2 and made the walk such a special day. Let’s keep the momentum going! Donate today at SummitAutismWalk.org.

A big thank you to Principal Crozier and the students at Smallwood Drive Elementary School for their incredible support of neurodiversity and autism acceptance!

Last week, The Summit Center was presented with a $1,500 donation raised through the school’s annual fifth-grade Autism Acceptance T-shirt design contest. The winning design was proudly worn school-wide throughout April in celebration of neurodiversity and inclusion. We’re so grateful for your creativity, kindness, and support!

Throughout the month of April, the Peregrine Angels at Peregrine Senior Living at Cheektowaga hosted a fundraiser in honor of Autism Acceptance Month, raising $410 for The Summit Center through a basket raffle, lottery tree, and cookie sale!

Organizers shared that this was by far the most successful fundraiser they’ve held. We are so grateful to the Peregrine Angels and everyone who supported the fundraiser for their generosity and for promoting autism acceptance.
