Adams County Habitat for Humanity Building Better Lives...One House at a Time with safe, affordable housing.

Our philosophy is to provide a hand up and not a hand out and in doing so, provide the opportunity to a family to own their own home. A family selected to become a partner family must work on their own home prior to taking possession. The required hours, called "sweat equity," are 500 hours for a family with two capable working adults or 250 hours for a family with one adult. At settlement, the pa

rtner family signs a mortgage agreement with ACHFH and the partner family assumes monthly payments for the mortgage, taxes, and insurance. ACHFH provides a no interest mortgage loan to the partner family and uses the monthly income from all mortgages to finance new construction.
