In Loving Memory of âMotorboatâ
July 1980 â July 2025
Our Lip Bomb camp family is heartbroken to share the passing of our dear brother and friend, affectionately known to all of us as Motorboat. A brilliant light has gone out far too soon.
Motorboat was one of those rare souls who seemed to operate on a different frequencyâquick with a joke, sharper than most, and always ready to lend both his mind and his hands. Whether he was fixing something nobody else could, leading a project, or just making us laugh until we cried, he left his mark in every dusty footprint he walked.
But more than his charisma, cleverness, and good looks, what we will remember most is his heart. He doted endlessly on his beloved wife, Sandra with the kind of devotion you donât see every day. Watching them togetherâespecially when he was talking about herâwas witnessing love in its best form. And to his beautiful son Alexander, he was a proud and loving father, eager to pass down not just knowledge, but wonder.
Motorboat had that rare gift of making you feel like an old friend within moments of meeting. You could be laughing with him in one breath and learning something deeply insightful in the next. He was generous with his time, humble in his brilliance, and fiercely loyal. He challenged us to think differently, to act boldly, and to live fully.
We are better for having known himâand lost in the emptiness he leaves behind.
To Sandra, Alexander, and all who loved him: your Lip Bomb family holds you close. We will carry his memory forward in the songs we play, the builds we create, the laughter we share, and the dust that settles softly at the end of the night.
Rest easy, Motorboat. The playa will never feel the same without you.
