WHAT IS THE GREAT B**R RELAY?
Think relay race… but with b**r.
Inspired by the legendary sport of Gelände Quaffing, teams of four will go head-to-head in a fast-paced competition of sliding, catching and chugging.
One teammate slides a mug of light, low-ABV b**r down a 10-foot table. Their teammate at the opposite end must catch it in midair and finish the b**r. Then it's the next teammate's turn. All four team members must successfully complete their turn to finish the relay, with judges keeping time and awarding points along the way.
And if you're feeling adventurous?
Trick catches can earn bonus points.
Fast hands. Good catches. Cold b**r. Bragging rights.
COSTUMES? ABSOLUTELY.
Themed teams and costumes are highly encouraged—but not required. Get creative. Lederhosen? Ski team? Superheroes? '80s aerobics squad? Four people dressed as b**r ingredients? We want to see it.
ONLY 20 TEAMS CAN COMPETE
The field is capped at 20 teams of four, so don't wait too long to put your crew together. Hydration breaks will be built in between rounds, and the competition will use light, low-ABV b**r.
COME FOR THE RELAY. STAY FOR OKTOBERFEST.
The Great B**r Relay is happening alongside Cabin Creek Brewing's annual Oktoberfest, so there's plenty to enjoy whether you're competing or just coming to cheer on the teams.
DRINK B**R. DO GOOD.
Best of all, The Great B**r Relay is a charitable event hosted by the Ripples of Impact Foundation.
All proceeds will benefit the Community Disaster Relief Fund for Clear Creek County, helping support our community when disaster strikes.
So grab your friends, build your team and come spend an afternoon doing something wonderfully ridiculous for a genuinely important cause.
