That is the whole number. Ten people with cars is the difference between a packing table stacked with boxes and 150 families who actually eat this week. One route each, and you are finished by mid-afternoon.

September is Hunger Action Month. Here is ours, honestly.

Every second Saturday, volunteers pack groceries at the Islamic Center of Lake Worth and drive them to 150 homes across Tarrant County. Families do not travel. The food comes to the door. That program runs, and it runs well.

And every month since June, 300 families in Dallas County have gotten nothing from us.

Not because donations stopped. Not because volunteers stopped — 47 are still active. We lost the room we packed in, and we have not found another.

So this Hunger Action Month we are not asking you to picture a statistic. We are asking for one specific thing, and someone reading this can probably provide it:

An indoor, air-conditioned hall in Dallas County. One Saturday a month. Free of charge. A one-year agreement.

A mosque hall, a community center, a warehouse bay, a church basement, an empty retail space. Twelve mornings a year turns 300 families from waiting into fed.

If you have a room, or know someone who does, call us. If you can give a Saturday instead, we need drivers and packers on September 12.

في كل سبتٍ ثانٍ، يعبّئ متطوّعونا الطعام في Islamic Center of Lake Worth ثم يوصلونه إلى 150 بيتاً في مقاطعة تارانت. لا تنتقل الأسر، بل يأتيها الطعام إلى بابها. هذا البرنامج يعمل، ويعمل جيداً.

ومنذ يونيو، لم تصل 300 أسرة في مقاطعة دالاس منّا شيء. لا لانقطاع التبرعات، ولا لنقص المتطوعين — فلدينا 47 متطوعاً نشطاً. فقدنا القاعة التي كنّا نعبّئ فيها، ولم نجد بديلاً.

لذلك لا نطلب منكم في هذا الشهر أن تتخيّلوا رقماً، بل نطلب شيئاً واحداً محدّداً، وربّما يملكه أحدُكم:

قاعة داخلية مكيَّفة في مقاطعة دالاس، سبتاً واحداً في الشهر، مجاناً، باتفاق سنة واحدة.

قاعة مسجد، أو مركز مجتمعي، أو مستودع، أو محل فارغ. اثنا عشر صباحاً في السنة تنقل 300 أسرة من الانتظار إلى الإطعام.

إن كانت لديكم قاعة، أو تعرفون من عنده قاعة، فاتصلوا بنا. وإن كنتم تقدرون على بذل يوم سبت بدلاً من ذلك، فنحن نحتاج معبّئين وسائقين يوم 12 سبتمبر.

Jumu'ah mubarak.

"The best of people are those most beneficial to others."

Today we are asking one mosque in Dallas County to be exactly that.

AID's Dallas food program has been on hold since June. Not for lack of volunteers — we have 47 active. Not for lack of food. We lost the room.

We need an indoor, air-conditioned hall in Dallas County, one Saturday a month, free of charge, under a one-year agreement. Somewhere to receive, sort, and pack food for 300 families.

A mosque hall is exactly the right room. In Tarrant County, the Islamic Center of Lake Worth has been that room for us — and 150 families eat every month because of it.

If your masjid has a hall that sits empty on a Saturday morning, that hall can feed 300 households.

Fifteen students. Twelve are working today. Three are still in class.

AID's qard hasan fund financed all fifteen through professional certification — nursing assistance, medical assistance, dental assistance, cosmetology, and data analytics.

Interest-free. And repayment does not begin until the job does.

That last part is the design, not a courtesy. A student who finishes her certificate and is still looking for work owes us nothing yet. The clock starts on the first paycheck and runs 10 to 15 months from there.

Every student who has finished is employed. Twelve for twelve.

A grant is spent once. This comes back — and goes out again to the next student. The dollar that trained a nursing assistant trains a dental assistant after her.

Five fields. Fifteen students. One fund that keeps working.

بلا فائدة. والسداد لا يبدأ إلا حين تبدأ الوظيفة.

وهذه ليست مجاملة، بل هي التصميم نفسه. الطالب الذي أنهى شهادته ولم يجد عملاً بعد لا يدين لنا بشيء. الساعة تبدأ مع أول راتب، وتمتد من عشرة إلى خمسة عشر شهراً.

كل من أنهى دراسته يعمل. اثنا عشر من اثني عشر.

المنحة تُنفَق مرة واحدة. أما هذا فيعود، ثم يخرج من جديد إلى طالب آخر. الدولار الذي درّب مساعد تمريض يدرّب مساعد أسنان من بعده.

خمسة مجالات. خمسة عشر طالباً. وصندوق واحد لا يتوقف.

This is what one Saturday looks like.

August 8, Islamic Center of Lake Worth. Volunteers sorting, packing, and loading — then driving delivery routes to families across Tarrant County.

We do this every second Saturday. It works.

Dallas County has been dark since June.

Not for lack of volunteers. Not for lack of food. We lost our packing location, and without a permanent space our food account stays on hold. 300 families in Dallas are waiting for a room like this one.

We are not asking for money. We need an indoor, air-conditioned space in Dallas County — free of charge, the first Saturday of each month, under a one-year agreement.

A warehouse. A gym. A community center. A mosque hall like this one.

🚨 URGENT: We need a facility in Dallas County — 300 families are waiting

Assalamu Alaikum DFW Community,

American Islamic Diversity (AID) urgently needs your help finding a facility in Dallas County for our monthly food program.

Our food distribution account has been placed on hold because we no longer have a permanent packing and distribution location. To have it reinstated and keep receiving food for families in need, we must secure a stable location and provide a minimum one-year agreement. The location must also pass an on-site inspection.

We are looking for an indoor, air-conditioned space — a warehouse, gym, community center, mosque facility, or similar — that we can use free of charge on the first Saturday of each month to receive, organize, and pack food.

The facility must be:
✅ Located in Dallas County
✅ Indoor and air-conditioned
✅ Available the first Saturday of each month
✅ Provided free of charge
✅ Willing to sign a minimum one-year agreement

We are not asking for money. We need a space — twelve mornings a year.

300 families in Dallas County are currently going without. Our Tarrant County home delivery continues, but Dallas has been on hold since June.
