Lampe Park’s creek was filled with anglers Saturday and Sunday as about 1,250 families gathered for the annual Kids Fishing Derby.

Hi Anglers! We hope you had an amazing time at the 2026 Douglas County Kids' Fishing Derby! Now that our team has gotten a much needed day of rest, we will be calculating our numbers and going through all of the photos we captured throughout the weekend. Congratulations to 3 year old Sebastian Desmond of Session 6 for being our overall Big Fish Winner of the 2026 Douglas County Kids' Fishing Derby , with an enormous 4.41lb Rainbow!

The fish are out and were replanted into Mountain View Pond by NDOW. There weren't many left since it seems like all child anglers "limited out" this weekend 🥰 We did pull some of those HUGE trophy trout out of the creek, though, so definitely take advantage of Nevada Free Fishing Day next weekend!
