Thanks so much to all of you who came out to the first La Veta and Gardner Farmers' Markets of the season!! We look forward to seeing you all again next week. In addition to kale, lettuce mix, fresh herbs, homemade breads, goat cheese, skin care, cookies, and Jenn's divine pastries, we hope to have chard and lettuce heads. Flowers are coming up in the garden, so bouquets should return soon!

Sweet Wild Rose and daughter Maravilla (as a baby). Now Maravilla is four years old, pregnant and will hopefully give birth in a month! Fingers crossed.

Shii Koeii Farm and Red House Pies will be at the Gardner Holiday Market in December.

The Gardner Farmers Market, now in its 14th season, is held under the pavilion next to the Methodist Church, 10am to Noon every Saturday. The last market of the season is October 12th.

Vegetables we will have this week:

Tomatillos $2 lb
Broccoli $3 lb
Sweet Onions $1 lb
Dill $2 bunch
Tomatoes $2.50 lb
Carrots $3 a bunch
Summer Squash & Zucchini $1 each
Butter Head Lettuce $3
Beets $4 bunch
Winterbor Kale $3 bunch
Rainbow Swiss Chard $3 bunch

Bakery items each for $2:
50/50 Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chips and Chocolate with Peanut Butter Chips
Buttermilk Cranberry Almond Orange Scones
Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Cookies
Guerga Walnut Cookies with Lemon Zest & Apricot; gluten free

We will have soft goat cheese chevre ($6).

And we will be bringing our normal variety of fresh breads:
Pretzel Bread $5 * Seeded Wheat Bread $6 * Light Sourdough $4 * Roasted Chile Cheddar $7


The half-price (2 for 1) program, for both local produce and local protein (meat, cheese, eggs) is fully funded this year, so please, if you are eligible, don't be shy. If you're not sure if you're eligible, please ask us!
