I did not write a book.
My children wrote me.
For years I preached what I was taught:
_"If you give a woman metal, she gives you gold. Give her a house, she gives you a home."_
It sounds like praise.
It is actually a prison.
I am father to five daughters and one son.
And my hallway would not let me keep teaching it.
My daughters kept sowing worlds no one gave them permission to sow.
My son kept teaching me that a man who only initiates but never gestates abandons the harvest.
So I went back to the text.
Not the translation. The tongue.
Tsela.
We translated it as "rib" — a spare part to protect a heart.
But Tsela never meant rib.
In Hebrew it means SIDE. The side of the Ark. The side chamber of the Temple.
Woman was not taken from man to be beside him.
She WAS the side of man.
And without her side, man cannot stand. The Temple collapses.
That changes everything.
It means woman is not a receptacle for male form.
She is an artist who transfigures dust into living souls.
It means man's problem is not that he leads too little.
It is that he only breathes with one lung — initiation. He must learn to womb — to stay, to tend, to fold the laundry after the miracle.
So I wrote the book I needed to become a whole father.

This is not a gender book.
This is a wholeness book.
For every girl who was told she is "too much" when she leads and "not enough" until she is given something to multiply.
For every boy who was told he is only what he provides, and never what he becomes when he stays.
Your presence is not contingency. Your presence is cosmos.
The blue ocean on the cover is rising. The light is blasting through.
Because a generation that was lied to about the difference their presence presents is waking up.
And when a man recovers his side, he stops building rooms.
He starts breathing homes.
The book is coming.
To my six teachers — thank you for refusing to be ribs.
