Help Request:

Team, tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:00 PM we’ll finalize the Christmas display put away. This is where many hands would help greatly to bring down the major structures, load the items off the field and out of the concession stand and trailer them out to the storage units.

If you have a trailer this would help as well!

Thank you in advance for your helps with this community event!

We want to thank the community and all of the volunteers that have helped us with this year‘s Council of Hope Community Christmas lighting! We’ve seen record crowds and have received over double the number of letters to Santa. Special thanks to the Kay’s organization for helping to coordinate the responses!

Our next challenge is the takedown and put away and we’re planning that for December 30 so if you can help the more people the merrier and we’d greatly appreciate the support we’re trying to beat last year‘s record and taking down and putting away in less than three hours. The plan is to start at 8:30 AM providing the weather supports. We welcome any and all and would appreciate your support.

Owl Nation!! We could sure use some help Saturday morning to finalize the display before the upcoming Christmas Kickoff event. (wings, moving head lights, faces, signs on the fence and electrical cord runs).

We'll also be cleaning up the ball park leaves with the power vacuum. Look to be starting at 8:00am, weather permitting.

Please spread the word!!

SAVE THE DATE(s)!!
The holiday season is quickly approaching and that means that we are planning and preparing for this year’s display. Below are our scheduled work days to get the display moved and set up. Haul all major structures to Beck field and set up frames. (Trailers required).
Large crew able to lift is needed! (Football team welcome as always!!)

November 9, 2025- Mid day to 5:00 PM Needing some pixel pushing volunteers - student help would be amazing if at all possible.

November 15, 2025- 8:00am - ??
Large team needed.
Raise the trees and set up the rest of the display.

November 16, 2025- Finishing touches if needed

November 29, 2025- Tree Lighting!! 🎄

Project 1 Complete: Auxiliary Parking for Renwick, Fencing and Drainage - What’s Happening at the Garden Plain Stadium Complex?

The Council of Hope, Inc. is excited to share the next step in our ongoing partnership with the Renwick School District to improve safety, accessibility, and community pride at the Garden Plain High School athletic complex.

Several years ago, the Council of Hope purchased five acres of property directly east of the stadium with a long-term vision of supporting school and community needs. That vision is now becoming reality. Our newest project will create a multifunctional overflow parking area on Council of Hope property to help accommodate the large crowds that gather for major sporting events. This improvement will help eliminate the need for fans to park along Highway 54 and cross traffic on busy game nights — a much-needed safety solution for students, families, and visitors.

In addition to the parking area, the project also funds the installation of wrought iron fencing with the help of American Fence, along the south and east sides of the stadium. This completes the fencing circuit around the entire complex, enhancing both safety and the appearance of the facility. The project also addresses drainage improvements with our friends at Foley Excavating, that will benefit the site for years to come.

This effort reflects our board’s commitment to serving the Renwick School District and the broader community by investing in projects that make a tangible difference. Looking ahead, the Council of Hope plans to develop the property further with the addition of a community center — a space designed to host events and activities large enough to serve the entire south-central Kansas region.

The Council of Hope, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Garden Plain, Kansas, with the mission of supporting and developing the rural south-central Kansas area.

We invite you to watch the video below for a closer look at the progress being made and the positive impact these improvements will have for generations to come.
