Since November, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have been able to provide 30 Meals in a Bag every single week to families at Burnet Elementary.

What started as a simple idea has grown into something truly special. Each meal represents more than just food on the table; it represents kindness, compassion, and a community that shows up for one another.

We are so grateful to every person who has donated, volunteered, shared our mission, or simply encouraged us along the way. Your support is making a real difference in the lives of local families.

It’s the start of Summer break and we know the need doesn’t stop when school is out. Our team will be meeting soon to discuss fundraising efforts and possible ways we can continue serving families throughout the summer months.

Thank you to everyone who supported Keeping Galveston Fed throughout this school year. Because of your generosity, encouragement, donations, and volunteer support, we were able to provide meals to 30 families in our community week after week.

We have officially distributed our last meal of the school year, and now we’d love to help families celebrate with an end-of-year cake!

Everybody deserves a sweet treat, and with just 3 simple ingredients, cake mix, Sprite, and frosting families can create a delicious cake together at home. Simple moments like these can bring so much joy.

For the past few weeks we have been working together with the Shykatz Community Fridge by providing recipes for ways to use all the donated chickpeas they received.
We created a yummy Chickpea Cookie Dough recipe and a Chickpea Taco recipe, and thanks to the Happy Lions Club for donating the additional items to build the bags!
Our mission is Keeping Galveston Fed, One Meal at a time and what a great way to contribute to that goal within the community.

Behind the scenes at Keeping Galveston Fed, we’re always testing, tweaking, and creating meals that are comforting, budget-friendly, and easy for families to prepare at home. Every bag we pack is made possible because of a community that continues to show up for local families.

We’re currently looking for donations to help us put together next week’s meal bags. This creamy, hearty Alfredo Ham Pasta meal comes together for under $7 and has quickly become one our families request again and again.

Thank you to everyone that donated this past week to meet our goal of providing 30 meals to Burnet Elementary. We have been feeding families every week since November and not only have we never missed a week, but we made multiple meals during Thanksgiving and Christmas! This has been made possible by the generous support of the community, so thank you again💕

We are so grateful for the donations we have received for the Taco Spaghetti Meal in a Bag. The 30 families we serve at Burnet Elementary will be enjoying this meal later in the week and we still need several items to complete the recipe.

19 Cans Rotel tomatoes
6 Boxes (3 pack) Velveeta cheese sauce
18 cans Cream of Chicken soup
8 Taco Seasoning packets
