Hello, Everyone! This is Deputy Sanford with the Constables Office here in Precinct 1. I run a small local charity here in San Leon/Bacliff/Texas City called the Deputy Sanford Claus Foundation. I just wanted the let everyone know that Trek Bicycles in Houston donates a number of kids bikes to my organization every month. They are trade ins and scratch and dent, so they aren't exactly brand new, but they are very expensive and in decent condition.

I just dropped off 22 of these bicycles to Tara Drisko-Le's Blessing Box, located at 1045 11th St San Leon, TX 77539. That's on the corner of Avenue K and 11th. A very special thanks to Tara for hosting and distributing them. Very few people care more about their community than she does!

First come first served on these bikes! Most of them are for little kids. They are all out there now, so if your child needs a bicycle, please go grab one! Free of charge.

Please assist me in preserving the integrity of this program by not reselling these bicycles.

Hello, Everyone! Deputy Sanford here with a fresh new load of bicycles for the kids of Texas City and Precinct 1! The wonderfully generous Tyler Smith-Reynolds and Trek Bicycles-West University have donated 18 gently used bikes to the Deputy Sanford Claus Foundation!

I'm on my way back to Galveston County now, trailer in tow, so if you are a parent that can't afford to get your child a bicycle at this time, please reach out to me on messenger and I'll arrange to get a bike to you.

This load is heavy with 16" bikes, which are pretty small. They typically fit a child from 3-8yo. I have a few 20" bikes that are good for young teens, but I don't have any adult sized bikes at the moment.

The greatest opponent to a fisherman's happiness. The consummate thief of sportsmen's joy. The standard-less scavenger of the Gulf Coast... The predator that preys on every living and dead organism in the water. The cockroach of the saltwater. The Hardhead.

Who could have imagined that the ugliest, meanest, peskiest sea-rodent, the killer of so many angler's joy, covered in slime and ready to gaff anyone willing to touch them... Would, beneath their mucus covered flesh, contain this incredible message of hope and redemption.

Thank you, Jesus Christ, for presenting your message of salvation and redemption in the most profoundly ugly places.

As a police officer, I never pass up a good natured opportunity to tease our dedicated "2nd Responders" at the Fire Dept. Today, though, I'd like to take a break from razzin' the hose draggers and give a standing ovation to the Texas City Fire Dept's newest Firefighter, Caleb Lowth. (Of course, I'm just kidding. TCFD are some of the best, well trained, and bravest in the business.)

My charity, the Deputy Sanford Claus Foundation, was contacted by the social worker for an elderly resident in our community who is suffering from major health issues and is a huge fall risk. She had recently taken a serious spill on the front steps of her house. The social worker said that the Handrails for Texans charity had a massive wait list, and asked if there was something we could do to help. Thanks to a very generous donation by our very own State Representative, Terri Wilson and her husband, David, I was able to order a very nice set of hand rails for the woman.

The problem was that I'm DANGEROUSLY mechanically unskilled, yet I'm never afraid to try. That's a recipe for a real disaster in the making, considering I would have inevitably incorporated zip ties and duct tape into my work, and doubled her chance at injury. I put the word out that I needed someone who legitimately knew what they were doing construction-wise, and Caleb Lowth answered the call.

Caleb showed up and installed these hand rails for the woman, no questions asked. Normally I'd utilize this time to promote his business and sing his company's praises, but there isn't one. On Feb 23rd, Caleb starts work as the newest Firefighter for the Texas City Fire Dept. TCFD is lucky to have him!

A former Merchant Marine, Construction Foreman, and upcoming MMA fighter, Caleb has decided to selflessly serve this community on the Fire Truck. He's a reliable and selfless addition to the Fire Dept, and I commend him for his dedication to this community!

Today I had the honor of dedicating our busiest blessing box to a wonderful and kind soul who left this earth way too soon. Katie Lynn Fragoso was a beautiful and vibrant woman who passionately cared for the underserved and lived to feed the hungry. Her dedication to the underfed was the reason her parents requested that in lieu of flowers at her celebration of life, that donations be made to the local food bank.

I make it a point to add Matt 25:35 to each and every blessing box this foundation provides. "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me".

When someone is hungry, whether it be literally or spiritually, and they are "seeking" nourishment, what better place for them to find it than at a church? Come and See Friends Church is a true lighthouse in the storm for those navigating life's troubled waters. That is why I was so excited to share this tribute to such a special soul with the box at this location.
