🎉🐾TNR is Back at the Stockton Animal Shelter!🐾🎉
The City of Stockton Animal Shelter is offering two TNR dates for August! Registration begins Wednesday 08/13/2025, from 7:30-8:30am. Spots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of registration. 25 cats per day. Cats MUST be in a cat trap and must be feral/community cats. Kittens must be at least three pounds at the time of TNR. Thank you for making a difference in Stockton's community cats!

🐾 🐕 We want to introduce yall to some of our newest little friends! Meet the Pasta Litter! 🐕 🐾

Please help us welcome these 4 boys into our rescue. Macaroni "Mac", Noodle, Gnocchi, and Rigatoni "Toni." These adorable 4 boys were pulled from the shelter and they havent looked back since! They are under 2 weeks old, eyes still closed, and needing our help as they are being bottle fed every few hours. 🍼 They had a sister who sadly didnt make it, but these 4 boys are fighting hard to thrive and survive! 🌈 🐕 We are having a DNA test done on one pup so we can get an idea of what breeds they consist of but until those results arrive, all we know is that their momma was aprox 25 lbs and that they are 💯 adorable! We are very excited to share their journey to a new, beautiful life with all of you! Thank you so much for always wanting to help these puppies with us! We have been asked what we are needing and with these sweet babies, puppypads and formula would be an amazing help! 💞 📦

**Medical Update/XRay results for Eclipse.**

Eclipse is one of two puppies that were found out in an orchard in Stockton, CA and brought into our rescue at only 2 weeks old. Herself and her sister Midnight were covered in fleas and needed to be bottle fed. As time went on we realized that Eclipse would sound a gargly after eating and drinking. We took her to the vet (shared that vet visit in a past post) and she was put on antibiotics to be cautious of aspiration and we observed. As she got older, Eclipse started regurgitating after eating mush/softened dog food. We took her back to the vet and we got medication to help coat her stomach to try and help her keep food down better. (Shared this vet visit in past post as well) After completing this treatment plan snd observing we decided to take her back to the vet as we felt there was no improvement and infact felt it was getting a bit more frequent. The Vet determined we should do Xrays to get a better view of what was going on. We did and have gotten the panel Xrays back and here are the results summary.

Eclipse has a birth defect which causes her esophagus to be enlarged. (Megaesophagus) There is no surgery or way to fix this. We do not know if she will outgrow these symptoms or if they will continue. The vet explained that all the food she is eating is not going down her esophagus (throat) and into her stomach. Some gets "stuck/lodged" and then she regurgitates it. Since she is not loosing weight, she is infact gaining consistently, he suggested that we feed her smaller portions more frequently. We will also feed her upright or with a raised feeding bowl and try to not have any wrestling matches with her sister break out directly after eating. (Allowing some time for her to down and ideally keep down the food). She has a wonderful appetite so offering her small and more frequent portions will not be a problem.

Eclipse was already spoken for and her soon to be adopter has been informed of her ongoing vet trips and their outcomes. She has so kindly and lovingly offered to still give Sweet girl Eclipse and her sister Midnight a loving home. We are so happy to hear this and the soon to be adopting mom is also a nurse so we feel that Eclipse will be in the best of hands!

Due to the birth defect we have decided to have Eclipse's adoption fee be sponsored as she will likely have vet visits in the future that her new family is willing to take on. We are grateful that she will be going to a very knowledgeable family and be able to continue to grow and develop, just at her own pace.

We appreciate your ongoing support of Eclipse and while we wish we could "fix" her problem so she will not have symptoms moving forward, we are also relieved to know the cause and by knowing such, we can be able to educate and inform her adopting family for moving forward. 2 Shar Pei/Staffy mixes are looking for their furever homes. We were contacted by the owner asking for assistance with vaccinations and deworming. We were able to vaccinate 3 puppies and momma. Momma has a date to be spayed and 2 puppies are still looking for a home still (There were 9 in the litter total). 1 male and 1 female is left. Mom and dad are both on-site. Puppies are aproximately 5 months old and weight about 15-20 lbs. Please reach out to the ower directly if you would like to meet/adopt one of the puppies. Well the results are in!! We got Midnight's DNA test results back and OH Man!! This is why we are so hesitant to "guess" what breed they are because a result like this will have us shaking our head wondering if the results got swapped with someone else!? 😆 Having said that, we are super excited to announce her DNA and learn more about her most prominent breed the Xoloitzcuintli! She is rare indeed just like the breed because she is pretty close to perfect in our eyes!!! She is a Beauty! 🐾 💕

💕 🐾 Happy Tuesday! 🐾 💕

We are so excited to announce that Todd has found his furever home! His family came across his post looking for his furever home and they filled out an application, scheduled a Meet N Greet and the rest is History! They fell in love with this sweet scruffy boy instantly. He captured the hearts of the kids and we enjoyed hearing how they would be taking turns taking care of the chores for the dog and calling whos bed he would sleep in. We could feel the love within this family and knew that Todd would be blessed to be welcomed into such a home. 💕 Thank you for choosing to adopt and not shop! 🐾 🐕 Hello, my name is Peanut!! 🐕 🐾

I am an aproximately 6 weeks old male puppy and weigh only 1 lb 12 oz. I appear to be a chihuahua mix. A good Samaritan saw an unhoused person trying to give me away, so she took me in to be certain I didn't end up in the wrong hands. 🐾 Heart of Galt Rescue agreed to place me in their rescue to make certain I am medically cared for and to find the best furever home for me. I may be small but I am very happy and spunky. I love all the other dogs in rescue and I especially love the humans. I enjoy playing with my new toys and getting lots of sleep in my soft bed so I grow big and strong. I have been dewormed, start my vaccinations, and microchipped. 💕 🐾 Happy Monday! We have some amazingly great news to start your week off! 🐾 💕

Momma Betsy was our First pregnant momma dog we brought into our rescue. She was pulled from Stockton Animal Shelter just in time, because shortly after getting her out of the shelter, she gave birth to four amazing, healthy adorable puppies on Memorial Day. 🇺🇸 She was a wonderful Momma Dog to her puppies and they all grew and found their furever homes. 🥳

Betsy was spayed to ensure this cycle of overpopulation would end with her and then she was ready to find her furever home. Time passed and an amazing family reached out to us to ask if they could do a "trial" with Betsy to see if she would fit in with their family and lifestyle. They completed the application process and Betsy was welcomed into their home as a temporary guest. We were very hopeful that they would see what a sweet, kind, fun, loving, silly, good girl Betsy was... After one week we got the text we had been so hopeful to hear... They wanted to make it official and adopt Betsy! 🥳

We could not be more happy for her and her new family. We know she will be loved and cherished. We are so happy she will get to be spoiled and be the only dog in the home. Her new family has sent us videos of her leaping across her new big back yard playing with a ball and our hearts soared. She is exactly where she belongs. Everything happens for a reason and Betsy is living proof that good things come to those who wait. 🐾 Welcome home Betsy (now renamed Juney). 🏡 💕 You will forever hold a special place in our hearts as our first Momma dog to give birth within our rescue. ♥️ We love you.

🥳🐾 ViVi was adopted today! 🐾🥳

We are so happy to announce that ViVi found her furever family today! Her family came out to meet her and just loved her personality and cuteness! 😍 (Who could blame them?) ViVi now will be raised in a home full of love and fun! We are so grateful for all of the shares, likes, and applications for all of our dogs who come through our rescue!
