CHECK ON YOUR PEOPLE. EVEN THE ONES WHO SEEM FINE.
Not every battle leaves a visible scar. Not every veteran who is struggling will ask for help. And sometimes, the ones who are always making everyone laugh are the same ones fighting battles nobody knows about.
That’s why Buddy Checks Matter!
We were taught to look out for the person beside us. Just because the uniform comes off doesn’t mean that responsibility ends.
Send that text.
Make that phone call.
Reach out to someone you haven’t heard from.
You don’t need a special reason to check on someone. Sometimes a simple “Hey brother, you doing alright?” can mean more than you’ll ever know.
At American Warrior Outdoors (AWO), we believe the camaraderie and brotherhood don’t end when military service does. We look after our own, both on and off the water.
