Meeting Alert:

Yesterday, our President & Chief were invited to meet with elected officials from Shamong Township to inform us of their intention and expectation to serve us with our 90-day termination after a vote at tonight’s township meeting.

Although we shared our concerns about real reductions in actual service for the residents of Indian Mills given the realities this shift in service to Medford EMS will create, the committee still intends to vote to replace us; again…

A year ago we were in the same situation, except others backed out of the deal at the last minute.

In that year, our agency has met the ask of our community:

*Full transition to a combination department.✅
*Fully staffed duty crews.✅
*Reduced response time.✅
* Multi-rig responses ✅✅
*Off-road, marine, & rescue support.✅✅✅

From our beginnings in 1953, we have served both Pinelands communities. In 2021, we came back together after 30 years of supporting Shamong EMS. Leadership at Shamong EMS & Tabernacle Rescue realized we are stronger together. Our leadership team, made up of members from Shamong and Tabernacle, still believes that is true for our Pinelands family now.

One third of all Americans have no personal knowledge of or remembrance of September 11th, 2001, the day the world stopped turning. This weekend Township of Galloway and the City of Absecon ensured that "We will Never Forget".

Last evening, hundreds of members of the public and the first responder community came together at Beacon Church not only to remember, but to pass the lesson onto the one third of this nation who do not know. In his address, Chief Uhl said, "When we say the words' Never Forget,' we cannot treat it as an automatic reflex. We cannot expect a generation to remember an event they never experienced - unless we share the story. "We must teach them what to remember. Instead of worrying about the next news cycle or continuing partisan fights, our leaders must make it a priority to ensure the lessons and events of Tuesday, September 11th,2001, are taught in every classroom in the United States of America." Chief Uhl urged Congressman Jeff Van Drew, who was in attendance, to push legislation so that the lessons of 9/11 are taught in every classroom in every school in the United States.

This morning, we were honored to be invited to attend a first responder breakfast hosted by the Absecon 9-11 Memorial Founders Committee 4 EMT's from the retired Absecon Ambulance Squad presented our youngest staff with a flag as a symbol of passing on the responsibilities. We had a great time speaking with all the first responders who keep the City of Absecon safe. The committee also presented every EMT a challenge coin commemorating 9/11.

Lastly, while the events of that Tuesday in September, 25 years ago, will forever be etched into our history, so will the stories of September 12th and the days that followed. Do you remember September 12th? Let's go back to the days when it was impossible to find an American Flag to buy in a store, lines wrapped around city blocks for blood donations, and neighbors checked in on each other.

We are a little late. Summer is always extremely busy for us. In July, we were very busy with the FIFA World Cup , America 250, and the start of our apprentice program.

Thank you to Ridgewood SeniorLiving for stopping by with a treat for our crews 🥨. On Sunday evening they experienced a fire, but thankfully, the quick response of the Galloway Township Fire Department and the assistance of Galloway Township Police Department all residence were temporarily moved to a safe location and cared for while fire crews did their work.

We will be sending out a seperate release and thank you to all those agencies from accross South Jersey who responded soon.

Thank you to University of Pennsylvania Hospital for showing and educating our interns. They were invited to the helipad where the flight crew from PennStar educated them on their operations and mission. A very special thank you to Scott Tilton. Scott started with GTAS at the age of 16 as a junior member of the ambulance squad. Now Scott has a successful healthcare career working as a critical care nurse practitioner. Scott is also an active member of the Bayview Volunteer Fire Company

We are grateful to all the GTAS Alumni who remember where they came from and pay it forward.

⚽️FIFA World Cup 2026⚽️

Our teams were incredibly honored to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The past 39 days have been some of the most rewarding, challenging, and truly historic moments in our agency's history as the eyes of the world descended on New Jersey for the largest sporting event in American history.

From supporting Team Haiti🇭🇹 at Stockton University to protecting the crowds at yesterday's FIFA World Cup, Argentina 🇦🇷 vs. Spain 🇪🇸, our personnel were deployed across the state—fully prepared and ready for anything.

We want to extend a massive thank you to our partners at the NJ EMS Task Force and The New Jersey Department of Health for their incredible leadership throughout this monumental operation. Kudos as well to the New Jersey State Police for ensuring a safe, secure, and seamless event for millions of fans.

Our crews are definitely looking forward to getting some well-deserved rest, but as always—we stand ready for the next call.
