❤️ An Update from The Front Porch Pantry ❤️
The Front Porch Pantry was created to be a blessing to our community and to serve our neighbors with the love of Christ. We are so thankful for everyone who has donated, volunteered, and prayed for this ministry.
Unfortunately, we continue to have individuals taking large quantities of items at one time, leaving little or nothing for the next family who comes by. We have tried several solutions, including stocking the pantry on a random schedule and locking it overnight, but the problem continues.
Please remember that our pantry is supported entirely by donations. We have a limited supply and cannot keep it filled to the top all the time. We intentionally will not stock it completely full so that we can spread our resources across multiple days and help more families.
Because of this, we are making another change.
Effective immediately:
🤍 The pantry will be locked each evening at 8:00 PM.
🤍 It will be opened and restocked only as our schedules allow.
🤍 It may not always appear fully stocked, but we will continue to add items as we are able.
Several people have suggested that we stand outside and hand items out ourselves. While we appreciate the concern, this ministry was created so neighbors could access food and hygiene items with dignity and without needing someone to supervise them. We believe adults are capable of taking what they need while leaving enough for others.
As Scripture reminds us:
"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." — Philippians 2:4
We ask everyone to help us keep this ministry going by following one simple principle:
❤️ Take what you need. Leave enough for someone else.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Front Porch Pantry through donations, prayers, and encouragement. Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue serving our community, and we pray this ministry will always reflect the love of Jesus.
