Joe Conner collected the keys from Gainesville Parks & Rec. early today :) Huge thanks to Tina White, Micah Moore, Peggy Sue & Diana Erbskorn for hauling all the show supplies and setting up the Santa Fe Depot Museum ready for this weekend's art submission for the 2026 Fall Art Exhibition!

A few questions/reminders before you bring your art..
1. Have you read the Prospectus? When you sign the entry form you are agreeing that your art is not generated or significantly influenced by Ai.
2. You need to print off the entry form & entry tags - please attach these to the back of your art. We will have a very limited supply of either of these to cut down on our costs.
3. Is your art larger than 30” x 30”? You must provide an easel.
4. Did you remember to add a hanging wire?
5. If your art is on a canvas less than 1.5" depth it must be framed.

Thank you to everyone who attended today's meeting! Our next meeting will be on September 17th at noon at the North Central Texas College Library.

Call for help! As you know I've been working on Gainesville Area Visual Arts Fall Art Exhibition since May and we are now 16 days away from the first day of art submission and we do NOT have enough volunteers for taking in art, setting up the show, hanging art, helping with the judge, making sure the Opening Reception runs smoothly, or people to gallery sit while the show runs at the Santa Fe Depot Museum in Gainesville.

Tonight, Tuesday, August 4th at 6:30pm is the Gainesville City Council Meeting at City Hall, 200 South Rusk Street. If you are a GAVA Member, art lover, or a lover of the Gainesville Swing Orchestra, North Central Texas Chorale or Dolce Canto Children's Chorus of Cooke County we need you!

We are asking Gainesville City Council Members to increase our HOT Funding for 2027 and we need a strong presence at the meeting to show how important we all feel about the ARTS!
