Hello wonderful community of ours - we have some specific needs for a couple of families here at Family Promise I’m hoping we can get filled this week:
For dad and teen-
XL men’s shirts
Men’s Size 34-36 pants
Men’s 32 pants and shorts
Size 11 men’s shoes or work boots
Size 13 shoes men’s
For the mom:
2x shirts
18 bottom
For the toddlers-
7/8 tops and bottoms
Then for another family -
Girls clothes for a 9 year old, 7 year old and 11 month old
If you can help us out either ordering some items or dropping off at 229 SW 5th street M- Thur 9-4

We had lots of families get needs filled during backpack and clothing giveaway last week but a couple couldn’t make it and they are in dire need. One of the families is currently in a tent until things get sorted so they need some clothing and some hope. Thank you all so much!

When our friends at Alachua Fire Rescue Mobile integrated health called and said they had a family that had no school supplies or backpacks for back to school Monday - we at Family Promise Gainesville sprang into action! (And by sprang into action I mean … stopped watching the awful movie I was watching and drove to the office…. But still… there was action)💕💕
We love ACFR Mobile integrated health and they do SO much for our community, we are happy to make this happen !

Every child deserves a home. We provide children and families facing homelessness with life-changing resources like diversion, shelter and stabilization.

If you are a local business or community member that asks yourself “what can we do about the 880+ K-12 Alachua county school kids who go back to school this week living in a tent or a car or a motel room at best- here it is. We have the power to put these kids in a home where they belong!!

Family Promise was out at One Family Resource center 1725 Se 1st Gainesville. And WOW- the work Jerrel and his team are doing out there- from the food pantry to financial wellness to family events - they are putting In the work to make their community better. We need these community centers… So much of what we heard today from the community was that resources are getting thinner and waitlists are getting longer and they are tired of getting ping-ponged around, so having folks in the neighborhood that are serving the community and bringing resources to them, is so vital. 💕💕

Successful Day 1 of our Back to School backpack and clothing giveaway at Fam-Prom! Today was for our existing families! Tomorrow (Thursday 8/6 ) from 10-1 we’ve got up to 40 more to giveaway and lots more from our pantry, clothing, diapers, hygiene to give to family’s in need! 229 SW 5th street Gainesville!!

Yall… our volunteers are THE BEST! Thank you for stuffing all of the backpacks!

Thank you to The Junior League of Gainesville for purchasing 68 NICE backpacks for the children in our programs!!

Thank you to our community partners ranging from Dollar General to our faith based community-

Wednesday we are hand delivering 60 backpacks stuffed with all the back to school needs to ALL of our families in our program
Then Thursday from 10-1 we’ll be handing out 25-40 for the community at large at our offices 229 Sw 5th street!

We truly couldn’t do this work without you!!
