Gave out fully stocked backpacks at Williston City Hall today for students from Pre‑K all the way to college. I mostly worked on the K–2 bags, and my kids were runners for every age group, keeping everything moving with so much heart. With essentials costing more than ever, bringing immediate relief to families matters more than ever.

Times are hard, and families are feeling squeezed. I’m grateful for every conversation, every smile, and every reminder of what community looks like when we show up for one another.

A throwback to January 29th, 2026, one of the most meaningful and surreal moments of this journey: watching the HAVEN Act pass the Senate, its first chamber passage.

My grandfather served (on the opposite side of the aisle) in the building across the way, in the Old Senate building. He served one term in the one where I stood then. Having my bill heard where he fought was full circle.

This bill passing to protect people suffering like I did was full circle. Seeing my-and others'- suffering turn into real safety- that's a moment so surreal, so reverent...that I just don't have words for.

In this reel, I share why this moment meant so much to me and how the HAVEN Act’s new technology will help protect survivors of domestic violence by closing critical gaps in the system. This bill is a major step forward, and I couldn’t be prouder to have fought beside the bill's sponsors for this legislation that will help keep victims safer. And, particularly for this Senate passage vote-- Senator Berman was monumental in helping to get this through.Together, we can continue building a future where every survivor has the protection they deserve.

This is the heart of my campaign. I want every family in District 22 to have the opportunity to thrive. Survival should be the floor that we build from and not the ceiling we aspire to reach. Watch to hear why I'm running and the future I'm fighting for.

Meet the Team: Field Team (Part 1)! 💙

Our field team is the heart of our grassroots campaign. From knocking on doors and talking with voters to attending community events across District 22, they help us connect with the people we serve every day.

This is just Part 1 of our incredible field team! We’re fortunate to have dozens of dedicated canvassers who give their time and energy to reaching voters across the district. Their hard work is what makes this campaign possible, and we’re so grateful for each and every one of them.

I will be the guardian for home rule for District 22 when I get to Tallahassee. Last week, I debated Rep. Johnson in Chiefland. The contrast between us is crystal clear. I promised to preserve local autonomy because Levy County must be able to govern themselves differently than Alachua County. Meanwhile, Chad said he supports home rule but defended voting for bills, including the homestead exemption amendment, that strip local control.

Referenda are a powerful demonstration of democracy, but the half-baked property tax amendment was pushed out of the oven too soon. Governor DeSantis vetoed relief dollars for rural counties, who will be hit hardest. If you don’t want to preempt local governments, and know a measure will hurt our cities and counties, it’s as simple as voting no. Even if that means bucking the party line.

I am very honored to be supported by the workers of the International Association of SMART Workers Local Union #435. I worked three jobs to provide for my children. I understand how important it is to give working families a voice in Tallahassee.

I am also grateful to be endorsed by the Center for Freethought Equality PAC. A truly Free Florida is one where all people are respected for their diverse perspectives, grounded in our fundamental First Amendment right.

Why did I write the HAVEN Act?

In this Chat with Amy, I share why this legislation is so personal to me. As a survivor of domestic violence, I felt a responsibility to help close the legal gaps that can leave survivors vulnerable and give abusers power.

The HAVEN Act is about protecting Floridians and making our communities safer. When elected, I’ll keep fighting for legislation that puts people first.

In this edition of Chats with Amy, I answer one of the questions I get most often: How can a constituent help write a bill?

In this video, I explain how ideas from community members can become legislation and how you can get involved in the legislative process. Your voice matters, and you have the power to make a difference.

I am humbled to be endorsed by Rep. Johanna López, an exemplary public servant. Before becoming a Deputy Minority Whip in the Florida State House, Rep. López was named Orange County Teacher of the Year and then served as the youngest Latina elected to the Orange County School Board. As the daughter and mother to veterans, her focus on improving health care, expanding opportunities for students, and protecting families aligns closely with my values and the vision of our campaign. I am grateful to earn her support.

Bronson knows how to ring in 250 years! We are having a great time celebrating with the district- singing and dancing, enjoying the lemonade, and chatting about what they want to see in our state legislature, and what's coming up in November!

Today is about celebrating how far we've come, but also recognizing our responsibility as neighbors, patriots, and co-authors of the American story, to the work that remains. Liberty and justice for ALL. My hope is that, at the next major milestone, we will all be reflecting on our accomplishments when we needed hope and resilience the most.
