I'm honored to have earned the support of leaders, advocates, educators, and community organizations from across our district and throughout Florida.

These endorsements represent something bigger than a campaign. They represent a shared belief that we can solve problems, protect local voices, and deliver results for the people of House District 22.

From authoring the HAVEN Act to standing up for public education and fighting to protect home rule, I've always believed that the people closest to a community are the ones best equipped to make decisions for it. That's why I've worked to bring people together, build coalitions, and focus on getting things done.

I'm grateful for every endorsement, every volunteer, every donor, and every voter who is helping build this movement.

The past few weeks have been filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and opportunities to listen and learn!

From recording a podcast with Queen Lizzie, to speaking at the DWC of Santa Fe Springs for Memorial Day, to engaging with friends and families at the Chiefland May Day Festival, attending a Board of County Commissioners meeting, and facilitating important discussions on home rule in Levy County, it’s been a valuable reminder of the importance of staying present and involved.

Throughout this series, I’ll discuss important issues facing our community and answer common questions I’ve received while meeting with constituents across the district. Our goal is to bring these conversations directly to you and create a space for meaningful dialogue about the issues that matter most.

"SB 296 was authored by Gainesville advocate and domestic violence survivor Amy Trask, a current Democratic candidate for House District 22, who attempted unsuccessfully to advance an earlier version of the bill in 2025.

Trask said the HAVEN Act is rooted in lived experience, including moments when she found no safe way to call for help.

“I wrote the HAVEN Act because I survived the gaps it closes,” she said. “This bill is not about politics. It’s about safety, dignity, and accountability.”

Under the soon-to-be effective measure, Florida will study a first-in-the-nation silent alert system for victims unable to safely call 911.

We had such a wonderful time at the Democratic Women’s Club of Santa Fe Springs Memorial Day Meeting this weekend. It was an honor to be a keynote speaker, alongside fellow candidate Merrilee Malwitz-Jipson for State House District 10, about Memorial Day, sacrifice, and the responsibility we all share to honor the fallen by building a better system for those still here.

This was a great event full of thoughtful questions, live music, meaningful conversations, and the fulfillment of community!

Today, we pause in reverence, humility, and reflection. We honor the men and women who gave everything in what Lincoln called “the last full measure of devotion”. We hold space for those still grieving.

No words can ever bring back the laugh or the embrace of a loved one who has been lost. No tribute or post could ever say enough to do their memories justice; but today, we come together as Americans, as Floridians, and as neighbors in sobering recognition of their sacrifice, to let families and veterans know that they are not alone, and that we will do our best to honor their legacy and the freedom they gave to us.

We honor the fallen by refusing to give up on the America they believed in.

May we carry their legacy forward- not just in remembrance, but in service to each other, and in the choices we make with the days we have.
