FVJWC is proud to continue supporting local students facing food insecurity at home with snacks and/or shelf-stable meals. These items remain discreetly available, so students can access them with comfort and dignity. Club members recently delivered the last loads of the school year to our wonderful schools! Don’t worry, we keep going year round with our year round schools!

What does our support look like?
☀️ ~$15,000 invested each year
💝Monthly deliveries to 19 local schools (soon to be 20!!)
💛Continued Summer support for 5 year-round schools
The feedback from our school contacts is resoundingly grateful!

We covet this partnership and appreciate the care our elementary, middle and high school staff show these students each day! We look forward to continuing our work together!

Shake, Rattle & Roll the Dice for Sunshine!

FVJWC hosted a fun night of Bunco, connection, and community impact, this week! Yard-staked Sunshines along the entrance greeted our guests, and a cheerful custom-painted banner by set the tone for the evening ahead! No Bunco experience was needed, because after a quick tutorial, we were all ready to play! Community members and Juniors alike shared conversation over desserts and drinks, and cash prizes were awarded after two lively (and laughter filled) rounds!

We thank attendees for helping us make a difference—one roll at a time!

The Sunshine Project sends snacks and shelf-stable meals to 19 local schools monthly. These donations help to feed students who face food insecurity at home. ☀️🎲💛💖🥂

What an incredible evening celebrating at our End of Year Banquet!

We reflected on the amazing impact our club has made throughout the community. From our plastic waste collection project, blood drives, Story Walk in Fuquay supporting childhood literacy, and Sunshine Bins, to the many awards and recognitions we received at the state level.

We proudly honored our outgoing presidents, Brittany May and Kim Hatch, as well as their board for their leadership and dedication, and officially inducted our incoming presidents, Jenny Fowle and Hillary Millen, who will lead us into an exciting new chapter as we prepare to celebrate our 40th anniversary next year.

The evening also included recognition of our past board members and CSP chairs as well as celebrating the many women who went above and beyond in service to our club and community. One of the most meaningful moments was introducing a new award in honor of the incredible Rebecca Duffy, recognizing members dedicated to sustainability and environmental stewardship. 🌎💚

To top it all off, we were thrilled to welcome 15 wonderful new members into our club family! What a great year our club has had!

Twelve women proudly represented FVJWC at the GFWC of NC 124th Annual Convention in Durham and returned to Fuquay-Varina feeling inspired to turn new ideas into meaningful action within our community.

On Friday, students from Riverside High School opened the conference with the Presentation of Colors and a beautiful National Anthem. Committee updates were shared, bylaws were amended, and awards were distributed. Guest speaker Andora Hinton reminded us that there is power in our voices and encouraged us to lead with curiosity. That evening, we enjoyed a “Night of the Stars” banquet where our very own Brittany May received an Honorary Life Membership and Leah Martin received the Outstanding Junior Clubwoman Award.

Saturday brought a powerful message from US Congresswoman Valerie Foushee about the importance of every community having a voice, strengthening childhood literacy, and advocating for diversity in AI innovation. Clubwomen from across NC voted on resolutions and learned about impactful community service projects happening in our state. We heard from author Donna Everhart, known for vividly evoking challenges of the heart and the complex heritage of the American South. Her new book, “Women of a Promiscuous Nature,” is a must-read.

Saturday evening included many special moments as we celebrated the accomplishments of the 2024-2026 leaders and ushered in the 2026-2028 administration. We are especially proud that several FVJWC Clubwomen stepped into these roles. Rebecca Duffy passed the torch to Brittany May, the new GFWC-NC Director Junior Clubs; Heather Massengill was installed as GFWC-NC Dean of Junior Clubs; and Sara Tyree was installed as GFWC-NC Secretary of Junior Clubs. A new theme was revealed: Together we have the POWER to change the world! 💜 Partnership, Outreach, Women, Empowerment, Resilience 💜

Throughout the weekend our Club received several recognitions:
* Director of Junior Clubs Special Project, including a $1,000 check to be donated to Arts Center Friends of Fuquay-Varina
* Net increase in membership
* Communications & Public Relations: Top 10 Projects - FVWJC Brand Kit
* Fundraising & Development: Top 10 Projects - Bridgerton Enchanted Masquerade Charity Ball
* Leadership: Top 10 Projects - Adoption of role-specific guides for Club leaders
* Domestic Violence Prevention: Top 10 Projects - Pass It On partnership
* Advocates for Children: Top 10 Projects - Baby Blessings Box
* Environment CSP: Junior Outstanding Club
* Arts & Culture CSP: Overall Winner - Junior Clubs
* Education & Libraries CSP: Overall Winner - Junior Clubs

We are incredibly grateful for this weekend filled with connection and celebration. We’re entering May with renewed passion and excitement for what’s to come!

Clubwoman Jessica Throneburg recently shared with members about the incredible support Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle provides to families with children receiving care in nearby hospitals. As a former recipient of RMH services and past board member of the Triangle branch, Jessica’s firsthand perspective was truly meaningful.

Ronald McDonald House Charities offers families a safe place to stay close to their children, along with meals, snacks, activities, play spaces, and so much more during difficult times.

Inspired to give back, members purchased more than $600 in supplies to assemble 40 care totes filled with toiletries, activity items, self-care products, notebooks, and handwritten notes of encouragement for families. We look forward to finding even more ways to support this amazing organization in the future!

Today we celebrate GFWC Federation Day ✨ — a day honoring the incredible legacy of women united in service through the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

This weekend, members of the Fuquay-Varina Junior Woman’s Club are proud to be celebrating alongside clubwomen from across the state at tGFWC-NCal Annual Convention in Durham!

Being part of GFWC of North Carolina means our local service has a statewide and national impact — and we are honored to continue the tradition of friendship, leadership, and community service.

Happy Earth Day! Each April our club members celebrate by choosing a littered street to clean up.

This year we collected over 6 large trash and recycling bags, mostly including drink bottles, construction debris, and cigarette butts. Please do your part by always putting litter in its place. We'd love to hear what you are doing to help keep Fuquay-Varina clean!
