Healthcare, finance, and public services are now digital-first.

Yet only about 18% of older adults feel very confident learning new digital tools independently, *according to Pew Research Center.

This creates a digital confidence gap with real implications for access and independence.

🚨 Has Anyone Seen Messages Like These Lately? 🚨

Some people are receiving texts or pop-ups that say:

📱 "Your iCloud storage is full — verify now."
🔐 "Suspicious login attempt detected — secure your account."
📞 "Your bank account has unusual activity — confirm immediately."
💳 "Your payment method was declined — update your information now."

These messages are designed to create urgency.
And many of them are scams.

Before clicking anything:

✅ Pause
✅ Do not tap the link
✅ Do not reply
✅ Go directly to your account through the official app or website

2025 was a year we'll never forget 💛

What started as 2 classes a month became 15.

What started in North Carolina reached 14 states.

What started as a simple idea — patient, judgment-free tech help for seniors — became something so much bigger than us.

And we're just getting started.

2026 has a lot in store. More classes. More states. More seniors feeling capable, connected, and confident.

There are 3 days left in 2025 to help us bring that gift to even more seniors who are waiting for someone to meet them where they are.

This is a real story from one of our classes.

She’s 81. She came in just wanting to set up her MyChart account. What she didn’t expect was to leave feeling like herself again.

Too many older adults have been left behind. Not because they can’t learn, but because the right help hasn’t been there.

Some are scared they’ll mess something up. Some don’t trust that their information is safe. Some would rather leave things the way they are than risk feeling embarrassed. And some just don’t have anyone in their life to teach them in a way that actually makes sense.

With technology changing faster than ever, that gap only grows. And so does the isolation.

They’re not the problem. They’ve just been overlooked.

That’s what GOLD is here to change. We create a space where seniors can ask questions without judgment, learn at their own pace, and walk away feeling capable. Not confused. Not rushed. Capable.
