Fort Bend and Waller County just launched a major 20-year plan to bring more industry and jobs to the I-10 corridor between Katy and Brookshire. As Fulshear residents already struggling with traffic and delayed road improvements, we need to speak up so our Fulshear infrastructure needs don’t get deprioritized versus big economic projects.

This is an important program if you have a family member who may struggle with communication or cognitive impairment. Please take advantage to help keep them safe!

Last night, our officers encountered a young man with disabilities near a lake in our community. He was unable to tell us where he lived, and our immediate priority became ensuring his safety and finding his family. After working through the night and following up on several leads, we were eventually able to locate his home and reunite him with his loved ones.

While the story had a happy ending, it highlighted something important: very few families in our area are registered in the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Take Me Home Program.

The Take Me Home Program is a free, voluntary service designed to assist individuals who may have difficulty communicating, identifying themselves, or who are at risk of becoming disoriented or wandering. This includes individuals with conditions such as Autism, Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Down Syndrome, and other cognitive impairments.

The program utilizes a secure database containing a current photograph, demographic information, and emergency caregiver contacts. If law enforcement encounters someone who cannot communicate where they live, officers can quickly search the database using a name or physical description and help reunite that individual with their family. The system can also assist if a loved one goes missing by immediately providing officers with critical information and a current photograph.

Who is eligible?
Fort Bend County residents with a cognitive impairment or disability that may affect their ability to communicate and who may be at risk of wandering.

Participation is completely voluntary, and all information is kept confidential.

If you have a family member, friend, or loved one who may benefit from this program, we strongly encourage you to enroll them today. It could make all the difference during an emergency.

Please read this article outlining the ramifications of Prop A, passed last May in Fulshear. Tune in tonight to the EDC A board meeting to hear discussions about upcoming CIP funding and the FY 2027 budget!

The ballot question said "police pay, not a new tax." Both halves were true. The third half — what the EDC stops being able to build — was never on a yard sign.

Saving one of my favorite local gems for last—today I’m highlighting Dogwood Cafe for Small Business Week. It’s full of delightful finds, from home décor and jewelry to some of the comfiest clothes you’ll ever put on. I’m highlighting The Summit Fitness Studio for today’s Small Business Week feature. Last year, I had the chance to work with Jason, and it truly made a difference in my health and day-to-day energy. Because of that, I was able to walk 15,000 steps a day and fully enjoy every moment of our European vacation—something I don’t take for granted.

Fulshear is lucky to have several great fitness options, each with something unique to offer. However you choose to do it, taking care of your health is one of the best investments you can make in yourself.

By the middle of the week, I’m usually reaching for an extra cup of coffee ☕ so today I’m highlighting Revive Cafe for Small Business Week. It’s the perfect spot for those of us along 359, and my go-to order is the golden vanilla latte. The staff is always so friendly, and if they ask “would you like a free mini cookie?”… the answer is always yes.

Fulshear has no shortage of great coffee shops, each with its own personality and favorites to discover. Try them all and shop Fulshear First.

Tuesday calls for tacos, and I’m not about to ignore a perfectly good Taco Tuesday 🌮 So today I’m highlighting La Balance Cafe for Small Business Week. They’ve got great options for lunch and dinner, but my personal favorite is their breakfast tacos—simple, flavorful, and exactly what you want to start the day right.

Fulshear is full of great local spots to grab a bite, each bringing something a little different to the table. Support Fulshear First, try something new, and if it happens to involve tacos on a Tuesday… even better.

Anthony and Shanell have built more than a business, they’ve built relationships rooted in kindness, generosity, and genuine care for this community.
