Rise activity coordinators Melody Kosbab and Gabbie Rodriguez presented at the 2026 Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation - MOHR Spring Conference earlier this week.

Their presentation, “Programming with Purpose: Practical Strategies for Creating Engaging Activity Calendars to Organize and Enrich Day Support Services,” focused on thoughtful, intentional activity planning. Through an interactive activity, they shared strategies for building engaging activity calendars, discussed common challenges in activity coordination, and explored solutions for creating high-quality experiences.

We’re proud to see Melody and Gabbie sharing their expertise with others in the field and helping advance programming across the industry. We also appreciate MOHR for the opportunity to be part of this year’s conference.

Join us in celebrating Cleo Johnson, our April Champion of the Month! 🎉

As a DSP at Rise C**n Rapids, Cleo is known for her steady support, positive attitude, and creativity - especially when it comes to leading crafts and activities.

From jumping in wherever she’s needed to finding thoughtful solutions, she helps make each day better for those around her. Reflecting on her work, she shared, “Watching all of us make a difference has been life-changing.”

Yesterday, on what would have been Representative Melissa Hortman’s birthday, we honored her with a Day of Service.

Representative Hortman was a strong advocate for people with disabilities in Minnesota, including those served by Rise. In honor of her, we took this opportunity to give back to our community.

Across our life enrichment sites, we spent time volunteering at Feed My Starving Children - C**n Rapids, picking up litter in local parks, helping clean community garden boxes at the New Brighton Community Center, making cards for We Saw The Light, and more.

We are grateful for the impact Rep. Hortman made on Minnesota, and we were proud to honor her through service. 💙

Last week, Ry's & Shine invited us out to Smash Park Roseville for tacos, arcade games, karaoke, bowling, co****le, and more! We had a blast!

The team jumped right in to support Art Therapist Stacy Gross by helping prepare a variety of art projects for our Art Speaks program.

Art Speaks is a favorite activity in our life enrichment program, and we’re grateful for their support.
