Hello CCOS Members,

Just a reminder that we will be meeting at the church for our monthly get together this week.

We will have Show and Tell, as well as the all-time favorite -- raffle.

This is a good time of the year to clean up and to repot orchid plants as they are immerging for active growth this spring. There are several ways of repotting the plants and if you are not familiar with the task, we will talk and demonstrate how it can be done. We have many "experts" who can lend their help with this subject. I look forward to this being an informative and yet fun time on Thursday evening.

Along that same subject -- repotting-- we are thinking about meeting together to have a repotting session in April. We have a few options to consider 1. Having it at the church on the regular monthly meeting night, 2. Picking a Saturday and location that is suitable to meet together, 3. Do not have the April monthly meeting, but instead, let the repotting session be our time together.
Please consider an option that will suit you. We will talk about it and decide.

I hope to see you this Thursday.

Hello CCOS Members,

Happy New Year!
I hope all of you had a blessed and joyous Christmas season.

Our January meeting is now upon us -- THIS week. Traditionally, the January meeting has been a good social time where we can have some fun with Bingo. I hope that you have sharpened your skills and expect to dazzle us with your knowlege in playing the game. The Bingo cards will be available at $5.00 for three cards Of course your chances of winning increase with the number of cards that you hold.
Again, we will have a Bingo winners table with goodie prizes that you can choose as you win. The prizes are supplied by you. This could be an excellent time to re-gift some of those
Christmas treasures or funny items laying about the house, but not really being utilized to their full potential. So, plan on bringing 2-3 prizes, disguised to make them more appealing, and watch the happy faces of those winners who pick. As always, orchid and plant-related items are a big hit.

January is also our month to pay our dues. They have been kept at $25 per individual and $40 for a family. That is a good deal and I hope that you feel the same. If possible, please plan to pay on Thursday or mail your check to Jennifer this month. Dottie has been working with Jennifer to help us come up with a membership roster each year. The quicker that you take care of this item, the quicker we can compile a list of active CCOS members for 2026.
On Thursday, or with your payment, PLEASE supply your name, address, telephone,
email, and birthday. That will help us to be certain of your contact information being correct.
Thank you.

As usual, we are open to ideas for monthly programs and activities. We try to have a speaker periodically, but also present AOS webinars and items that would be of interest to the orchid grower. If you are aware of someone who might be available to speak to the society, or you have topincs that you would like to see covered, please relay that info on to one of us. We are planning to meet together soon to create a calendar for 2026. Your input is valuable.

Bring your friends or family members to join in on the Bingo fun this Thursday. You can also encourage them to become a part of the orchid society. Remember, there is a sense of prestige in belonging to such a fine group.

The club's Christmas luncheon at Marie Callender's was a pleasant experience. Doug kindly covered the cost of dessert, which was a nice touch. Given the opportunity, I would have ordered two pieces of pie if I had known it was complimentary. The event featured an entertaining white elephant gift exchange, and members who attended a specified number of meetings were rewarded with plants.

Don't forget to let Jennifer know if you're going to the lunch tomorrow
