What an incredible and Spirit-filled visit to the Jester 3 Unit! 🙌🏽

We were blessed to fellowship with 98 men who showed up hungry for the Word and ready to receive. The presence of God moved powerfully as lives were encouraged, uplifted, and reminded that purpose still remains—no matter the circumstances.

A special thank you to the faithful team members of FBI Ministry who poured out with boldness and love:

We also give honor to Evangelist Gretchen, who delivered a powerful Word from the book of Philemon entitled, “From Unprofitable Servant To Man To Profitable To God.” The message was timely, transformational, and a true reminder that God can restore, redeem, and reposition anyone for His glory.

Each testimony shared and every word spoken carried power, truth, and hope. Seeds were planted, hearts were touched, and chains were broken in the spirit.

We don’t take these moments lightly. This is why we do what we do—to remind those behind the walls that they are not forgotten and that God still has a plan for their lives.

We are truly honored and grateful to share that Faith Beyond Incarceration Ministry (FBI Ministry) was recently recognized at the Memorial Unit Volunteer Application Luncheon. 🙏🏽

What a humbling experience to be acknowledged among so many dedicated individuals who give their time, love, and commitment to making a difference inside the walls. This moment is not just about us—it represents every life touched, every prayer lifted, and every door God continues to open for restoration and hope.

From where we started to where we are now, we understand that this journey is bigger than recognition. It’s about purpose. It’s about reaching the forgotten, restoring dignity, and reminding men and women that their past does not define their future.

We don’t take this honor lightly. It fuels us to continue pressing forward, serving with integrity, and answering the call God has placed on our lives.

To everyone who supports, prays, gives, and walks alongside this ministry—this is your moment too. Thank you for believing in the mission.

The work continues. The impact grows. And the best is still ahead. 🔥

Stringfellow Unit – Saturday Services Recap

Overview

It was a powerful, Spirit-filled Saturday at the Stringfellow Unit. The Lord moved mightily in both services, reminding us that His presence is not limited by walls, fences, or circumstances.

First Service – Stringfellow SAFP Program Building

In the first service, 41 men gathered with open hearts and attentive spirits. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was engaged and responsive, creating a strong sense of expectation and transformation.

Bro. Cruz delivered a strong word of exhortation and challenged the men not to straddle the fence, but to fully surrender to Jesus Christ. He reminded them that partial commitment produces partial results, while surrender brings true freedom. Minister Peter followed with the message “Renewing Our Minds” from Genesis 2:19–22. He emphasized the importance of allowing God to reshape our thinking and reminded the men that transformation begins in the mind before it is ever reflected in life.

Second Service – Stringfellow Main Building

The second service was held in the Stringfellow Main Building, where 136 men were in attendance. The Spirit of God was undeniable. The unit choir opened with three powerful songs of worship and praise, lifting up what God has done and celebrating who He is. Their worship helped shift the atmosphere into one of reverence and expectation.

Sis. Tonya, Sis. Joyce, and Evangelist Gretchen then shared encouraging words and personal testimonies. Their transparency and boldness ministered deeply and reminded the men that God’s grace reaches every situation. Minister Terry delivered the message “I Won’t Eat That” from Daniel 1:1–20. His word challenged, corrected, and encouraged the men, reminding them that their current location does not define their identity. They are still men of purpose, fathers, leaders, and children of God, and his message spoke directly to their roles in their homes, communities, and present circumstances.

Altar Response

When the altar call was given, the response was overwhelming. Men rushed forward, some rededicating their lives, others seeking prayer, and all responding to God’s tug on their hearts. One highlight was a Muslim brother who shared how deeply he was touched by the service and the Word. It was a powerful reminder that God’s presence transcends labels and reaches the heart.

Closing Reflection

It never ceases to amaze me how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. No matter the distance or the name on the building, when God opens the door for FBI Ministry to show up, we are coming.

Because we know this truth: ministry is not always convenient, and we do not get to choose where God sends us. We simply go.

My transformation didn’t start the day I walked out of prison… it started the day I changed my mind.

I entered prison at 17 years old, and it was more than culture shock—it was a maze. A maze that demanded discipline, integrity, and focus just to survive, let alone make it out. When people hear “prison,” they often think of concrete walls, razor wire fences, and steel bars. But for me, it was deeper than that. It was a daily reminder of the lifestyle I chose at a young age.

I had fallen in love with something that never had any intention of loving me back—the streets.

That choice led me into a concrete jungle, navigating TDCJ through fluctuating custody levels and maximum security prison yards. For years, I wore a mask to hide the pain buried deep within. But there came a moment when I got tired of pretending… tired of hiding… tired of surviving without truly living.

And that’s when everything changed.

I shifted my perspective. I stopped seeing prison as a place designed to break me, and I turned it into the very place that built me.

I didn’t just survive prison and its harsh, barbaric culture—I transformed.

There were people who counted me out. People who believed my story was over. But what they didn’t understand is this: I was a seed. And even in that environment, I grew.

I may not have been able to undo every decision I made, but I could change the mindset that convinced me the streets ever loved me.

So if you know someone at their worst… don’t give up on them.

Reach out. Make the call. Send the letter. Show up. Pray for them. Speak life over them even when they can’t see it for themselves. Your consistency could be the very thing that helps them change their mind—and that one decision can change their entire life.

There are moments that remind you exactly why you do what you do—and our recent visit to the Memorial Unit was one of them.
I am truly grateful for the FBI Ministry team. God has surrounded me with dedicated, selfless volunteers who genuinely believe in speaking truth in love through the Word of God. This isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live every time we walk inside those gates.
What blessed me the most was witnessing the hunger. These men aren’t just showing up—they’re leaning in. They’re listening. They’re receiving. And they’re growing. When the altar call was offered, 14 men were standing there wanting to know more and for guidance. Many of them expressed deep appreciation, not just because we came, but because we continue to come… because we continue to care… because we continue to pray.
One brother shared something with me recently that stuck: “We look forward to FBI Ministry coming because it’s something different about y’all.”
That “difference” isn’t us—it’s God. It’s His presence. It’s His love. It’s His power moving right there in that place.
Moments like this remind us that lives are truly being transformed. Hearts are being softened. Minds are being renewed. And purpose is being restored. To know that God would allow us to be a part of that… it’s humbling, and it fuels us to keep going.
We’re not just showing up—we’re witnessing change.
And for that, I give God all the glory. 🙌🏾🔥

Although I wasn’t able to attend the recent Drug Rally at the Hughes Unit in Gatesville, TX, what took place there speaks louder than my presence ever could.

The rec yard was jam-packed—over 700 men from minimum, medium, and closed custody all gathered in one place. That alone says something powerful.

Men who were once incarcerated within TDCJ—men who lived behind razor wire, walked maximum security rec yards, and faced real life-or-death situations—made the decision to go back. Not to revisit their past, but to rewrite the narrative.

They returned with purpose… with passion… and with a message of love, hope, and transformation.

In a time where countless lives are being lost to the grip of drug addiction, these men stood as living proof that change is possible. That freedom is more than physical—it’s mental, emotional, and spiritual. Their presence alone declares that your past does not have to dictate your future.

This is what it looks like when pain is turned into purpose.
This is what it looks like when prison culture is challenged and changed from the inside out.

When we go back, we go back on assignment.

Not to glorify where we’ve been…
…but to show what life after incarceration can truly become.
