AMOR - Alliance for Medical Outreach & Relief Join us in providing quality health care and health education to the impoverished areas of our world where we are transforming health outcomes.

Like most great ideas, AMOR started because of a dream. In early 2004, a group of home builders and farmers in Fresno, California had a dream to provide health care for people who desperately needed it, and previously had no access to health services. In 2008, AMOR was founded to operate and fund its first international project - a 100-bed hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. After four years of building, Afshar Hospital opened its doors to see patients in April 2009. The hospital began seeing 300 patients a month and now sees over 6,000. In 2019, AMOR broke ground on its first domestic project, the AMOR Wellness Center. Located in Mendota, California, the AMOR Wellness Center is a rural hub of services designed to address the extreme poverty in West Fresno County. The AMOR Wellness Center opened its doors in Fall of 2020 and provides a group of essential services including medical, behavioral, social, youth, and educational services for a rural community of 12,000 desperately in need of this comprehensive support.

Our 9th annual Thanks for Giving with AMOR food drive is officially underway! 🦃🧡
With your support, AMOR will provide 300 hardworking families in Mendota with 60-pound boxes of nutritious food and everything they need for a full Thanksgiving feast. 🍗🥧

For every $100 we raise, we can provide one family with a Thanksgiving food box filled with:
• Fresh meats
• Fresh vegetables
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Pantry staples like rice, beans, and pasta
• Large pumpkin pies
• All the trimmings for a festive meal
• And more!

The clinic is open on Sundays and Wednesdays, with a GI specialist available for exams and procedures. Female staff are available for female patients.

Hundreds of Mendota families joined us at the AMOR Wellness Center for our Backpack & School Supply Giveaway + Wellness Fair, where we handed out 370 free backpacks filled with school supplies to help students start the new school year prepared and confident! 🎒✏️

A huge thank you to our friends at Binational of California for co-hosting, donating backpacks, and providing pizza; to Saint Agnes Community Health & Well-Being for providing free health screenings, vaccines, and physicals; and to all of our community partners who joined us to connect families with helpful resources and services.
