AMOR - Alliance for Medical Outreach & Relief Join us in providing quality health care and health education to the impoverished areas of our world where we are transforming health outcomes.

Like most great ideas, AMOR started because of a dream. In early 2004, a group of home builders and farmers in Fresno, California had a dream to provide health care for people who desperately needed it, and previously had no access to health services. In 2008, AMOR was founded to operate and fund its first international project - a 100-bed hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. After four years of buildi

ng, Afshar Hospital opened its doors to see patients in April 2009. The hospital began seeing 300 patients a month and now sees over 6,000. In 2019, AMOR broke ground on its first domestic project, the AMOR Wellness Center. Located in Mendota, California, the AMOR Wellness Center is a rural hub of services designed to address the extreme poverty in West Fresno County. The AMOR Wellness Center opened its doors in Fall of 2020 and provides a group of essential services including medical, behavioral, social, youth, and educational services for a rural community of 12,000 desperately in need of this comprehensive support.

Each month, seniors in Mendota, Cantua Creek, and Three Rocks receive food boxes packed with fresh produce and heart-healthy essentials through AMOR Wellness’ Senior Hunger Initiative. 🍎🥦

Many older adults in these rural communities live miles from the nearest grocery store or have limited transportation, making access to fresh food difficult. By partnering with Central California Food Bank, we’re able to bring nutritious groceries directly to over 100 seniors’ doorsteps and help support their health and well-being year-round!
