RavenMortem Hearse Club, was founded by Jerm Delgado-Washburn during the COVID-19 pandemic, blends hearse culture, grief support, paranormal unity, and cosplay fun. 💜 About RavenMortem Hearse Club 🖤

RavenMortem Hearse Club (RMHC) was founded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic by Jerm Delgado-Washburn. In a time of isolation and social distance, Jerm envisioned a way to help others stay connected, express themselves, and find comfort through community—and what started as a unique hearse-centered car club quickly became something much more meaningful. From humble beginnings in a driveway to now serving a growing network of members and fans, RavenMortem has grown into a vibrant, multi-faceted organization built on connection, creativity, support, and inclusion. Today, RMHC is made up of four distinct but united teams:

Our flagship unit celebrates all things classic, custom, and macabre on four wheels. You don’t need a hearse to join—just a love for the strange and unusual, and a heart for connection.

Who ya gonna call? This cosplay and community engagement unit brings the Ghostbusters universe to life with family-friendly events, school visits, parades, and fundraisers. We blend fun, fandom, and purpose—”We Believe In You!”

Mental health and grief support are close to our hearts. Raven Solace provides compassionate, professional support through social media outreach, public events, Death Cafes, and personal guidance. Whether you're mourning a loved one or navigating personal loss, we’re here to help you feel seen and supported.

Our official partners in the unknown! This paranormal investigation team educates, explores, and supports the public with respectful and evidence-based paranormal investigations and preservation of historical landmarks.

🎃 Affirmation 🎃

“I give myself permission to embrace wonder, celebrate the things that bring me joy, and keep a little magic alive in my heart. Even in the shadows, there is room for laughter, imagination, and hope.”

Remember the excitement of childhood Halloweens? The costumes, the spooky stories, the flickering jack-o’-lanterns, and the belief that something magical might be waiting just around the corner? As we grow older, life can sometimes dim that sense of wonder. We carry responsibilities, grief, disappointments, and changes that remind us the world isn't always as simple as it once seemed. But perhaps growing older doesn't mean we have to leave our wonder behind.

This Halloween, give yourself permission to play, laugh, remember, and believe in a little magic. You don't have to be a child to find wonder in the world. Sometimes, the smallest moments of joy are the ones that keep our spirits glowing through the darkest nights.

Halloween Legend of the Day: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

Fascinating Fact: This beloved animated special first aired on October 27, 1966. Based on Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts characters, it became one of television's most enduring Halloween traditions. Poor Charlie Brown! Since he kept receiving rocks for Halloween, children from all over the country mailed him candy to the studio. This went on many years after the show first aired.

While Linus waits faithfully for the Great Pumpkin, the rest of the gang celebrates Halloween in their own ways. The story captures childhood wonder, friendship, disappointment, and the courage to keep believing in something meaningful.

REFLECTION: Linus reminds us that hope can be important even when other people don't understand what we're waiting for. In grief, we sometimes hold onto traditions, memories, and little rituals that help us feel connected to someone we've lost. Other people may not understand why a particular song, holiday decoration, or cup of coffee means so much. That's okay. Meaning is personal.

Who ya gonna call, Darklings? Well, today, we're riding with Jerm and his beloved 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse, Ecto-13!

This ride has a story that goes beyond Ghostbusters. Before becoming Ecto-13, this beauty was known as Casper the Friendly Hearse. Jerm transformed his beloved hearse into a Ghostbusters-inspired ride, giving it a whole new identity and a new mission in the world. And that creative spirit doesn't stop with the hearse. As the founder of RavenMortem Hearse Club, Jerm built more than a hearse club. He created four units, including RMHC Ghostbusters, giving Darklings different ways to connect, share their passions, and celebrate the unique culture that brings us together.

Jerm has always believed that hearses are more than vehicles. They're a canvas for creativity, a way to connect with others, and sometimes the perfect ride for chasing a few ghosts!

Let’s give Jerm & Ecto-13 some love, Darklings! Cheers to our wonderfully unique club! Proud of what we’ve built together. The best part has always been the people behind the wheels!

🎬 Movie of the Day: Beetlejuice

“It's showtime!” Let's be honest, Darklings. Death has a way of reminding us that life doesn't always follow the script we had in mind. Sometimes it's strange, sometimes it's messy, and sometimes it feels like we're living in a Tim Burton movie. If you've ever experienced grief, you know that feeling of being caught somewhere between the living and the dead, trying to figure out how to move forward when someone you love is no longer physically here.

Grief doesn't mean our connection to someone is dead. Love changes shape. Memories show up when we least expect them. A song, a smell, an old photograph, or even a ridiculous movie quote can bring someone right back into our hearts for a moment.

We don't have to stop laughing just because we're grieving. We don't have to pretend we're okay when we're not. And we sure as hell don't have to follow society's timeline for healing. Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is embrace the weird, find humor in the darkness, and give ourselves permission to keep living.

💜 AFFIRMATION 💚

"I give myself permission to grieve in my own way. I can miss those I've lost and still find reasons to laugh. I can honor the past without surrendering my future, and I can carry love forward while allowing myself to live."

If someone you love who has died could see you today, what is one thing you hope they would see you doing? Would they want you to keep laughing, exploring, loving, making memories, or being your wonderfully weird self? Maybe honoring someone isn't always about standing at a graveside or lighting a candle. Maybe sometimes it's watching your favorite movie, laughing until you cry, and remembering that the love you shared is still part of your story.
