Early literacy is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s future success.

Students who struggle with reading in early elementary school are up to 4x more likely to drop out of high school—affecting everything that comes after.

At Maverick Center for Dyslexia, we’re working to change that story for students in the Central Valley.

💚Join us in supporting this mission at our upcoming Student Showcase, Dinner Theatre & Silent Auction.

For many families, this chart feels very familiar.

A child who is bright, thoughtful, and capable…
but struggling in ways that don’t seem to make sense.

That’s the “spiky profile” of dyslexia.

At Maverick, we understand it—and we teach in a way that works with it, not against it.

Each dyslexic has a different pattern of strengths and challenges. We score extremely highly in some things - often in the top percentiles. But in the areas we find challenging, we score very low - often in the bottom percentiles. We call this our 'spiky profile'.

That's why it's vital, in the workplace (and in the classroom), that we focus on our strengths - the things that we're naturally good at - and delegate our challenges.

Find out how to empower your Dyslexic Thinking at work, and learn to advocate for what you need to thrive, with our FREE 1 hour training on LinkedIn Learning.
