Tuesday night's game sponsored by Casa Fiesta, The Victors Event, Fremont Eagles 712, Swim Rite Pools, and ECO Insulators featured the Fremont Yellow Devils traveling to Oak Harbor.

Oak Harbor scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st. To jump out to an early 2-0 lead. They tacked on 5 in the bottom of the 2nd to stake to a 7-0 lead.

Yellow Devils responded with 5 in the top of the 3rd thanks to Lincoln Gardner and Gavin Ge**er's timely hits. Travis Johnson, Josiah Johnson, Gardner, Jeremiah Gutierrez, and Marcus Cooks each scored to cut the deficit to 7-5.

2 out errors continued the trend and snowballed as Oak Harbor responded with 10 in the bottom of the 3rd.

Yellow Devils responded with 2 runs in the top of the 4th courtesy of an A'Lyric Pettis single, run and a Chase Stierhoff run.

Yellow Devils would ultimately fall 22-7. The kids are progressing with valuable gametime experience. Yogi Berra once stated "Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical". I cannot commend these kids enough on how they are handling the mental aspect of the game. There has been hiccups along the way but they have grown from them.

Defense will be #1 priority in the off-season.

We are backlogged with game recaps due to the start of Fremont Parks and Recreation baseball season, we'll get caught up!

Thursday's game sponsored by Welty Insurance Group, CR Juices Health Bar & Cafe, Casa Fiesta, and The Victors featured the Yellow Devils traveling to Haskins to take on the Crush.

Jaeyce McKinstry started the scoring in the top of the 1st to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Crush answered back with 8 in the bottom of the 1st. Blake Covert came across the plate in the top of the 2nd. Crush responded with 8 in the bottom of the 2nd. McKinstry, Jacoby Gangwer, and Gavin Ge**er scored runs in the top of the 3rd. Crush responded with 1 in the bottom of the 3rd. Both teams were scoreless the last 2 innings.

Defense lapses and miscues along with controlling the basepaths continue to be the straw that breaks the camels back for big innings. They were more aggressive on the basepaths and less K's looking. Most importantly put together 3 innings of solid defense to outscore their opponent 3-1 in the final 3 innings which was highlighted by a double play by Chase Steirhoff and Covert. Building blocks to grow on.

Player of the game: Jeremiah Gutierrez

Game Ball: Gavin Ge**er

The Yellow Devils Yellow Devils were back in action Thursday and took a tough one on the chin, falling to the Crush 24–2. The same issues continue to challenge us, but there were signs of growth. Our pitchers paid closer attention to the runners, even as the Crush — a seasoned, well‑coached group — threw new wrinkles at them. They are still learning they control the game. They have to play the game within the game, controlling the basepaths. Losses like this are hard to sit with, but they’re also opportunities. These kids can learn from this game if they stand tall in adversity and take ownership of their development.

There’s a growing narrative suggesting the two Fremont teams should be judged against each other. That couldn’t be further from the truth. These groups have scrimmaged together and benefited from mentoring by current and former high‑school athletes. This isn’t an “us vs. them” situation — it’s the same challenges on both sides.

Neither team should be playing up. Judging these kids by their win‑loss record ignores the reality: the communities they’re facing have been together since 8U and 9U, and many of their players are select. Saying Fremont is “behind the ball” is generous — we’re still trying to find the steps. Our kids are getting their feet wet with new rules, heavier bats, and tougher competition.

Don’t blame the kids for the results. They’re years behind the developmental curve and playing older, more experienced teams. That’s not on them — that’s on me.

There are four things that AIDE a player grow:

- Attitude
- Intent
- Desire
- Effort

This year is about taking their lumps, learning from every inning, and building the foundation they should’ve had years ago. Development isn’t always pretty, but it’s always worth it. If your going to judge, judge these players in 4 years, not now.

The Yellow Devils we're back in action Tuesday night for opening division play. They fell 13-0 to the Gibsonburg. Defensive issues continue the trend. Errors contributed to huge innings for the Golden Bears in the 2nd and 3rd. Yellow Devil's should of been out of the innings with minimal damage.

Pitchers are progressing at holding on the runners little more consistently.
