We’re excited to share that Salaam Food Pantry is redesigning its website and launching cryptocurrency donations to help expand our pantry hours and make food more accessible to families in need.

🧪 We’re looking for a few pioneers to be our FIRST crypto donation testers!

All you need to do:
💰 Make a small donation $1-$5 through the new portal
🔗 Help us verify the complete donation process
📱 Share your experience/feedback with us

This past Saturday, Salaam Food Pantry partnered with Stearns Salaam Banking to host our Career Prep & Financial Workshop for young adults, packed with key insights on financial literacy, LinkedIn optimization, and resume building!

This workshop came from a simple idea: so many young adults in our community have the drive and potential to succeed, but don’t always have access to the practical tools that make the difference when starting out. Our goal was to start closing that gap in one evening giving students and young professionals real, actionable skills they could walk away and use immediately. It was incredible to see everyone come together to invest in their futures.

A huge thank you to our speakers:
Owais Sarfaraz, Business Development Officer at Stearns Salaam Banking, who broke down financial literacy essentials. He broke down budgeting, credit, and saving in a way that was practical and easy to start using right away.

Nan Ke, previously Lead Researcher for Career Networking at LinkedIn and now a Principal Researcher at Intuit Credit Karma, who brought research-backed insight into how to optimize a LinkedIn profile and truly stand out to employers.

Maqbul Khan, who shared invaluable, real-world guidance on resume building and what actually makes a resume get noticed with results.

Each of you generously gave your time, expertise, and heart, and everyone who attended walked away with so much. Thank you to our incredible team for making this workshop a success, especially our Event Lead, Maryam Naseer for organizing and Asiya Siddiqui for MCing the event.

Looking forward to many more opportunities to support our community and help young people feel confident as they begin their careers!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Ohlone Humane Society!

We’re so grateful to Ohlone Humane Society, an animal welfare nonprofit based in Newark, serving the Tri-City area since 1983, for their generous donation of pet food to Salaam Food Pantry! Many families have furry companions at home, and this donation makes it possible for them to feed thier companions.

The donation includes a variety of:
🐾 Dry cat & dog food
🐾 Wet cat & dog food

📍 Pet food is now available at the Salaam Food Pantry Office for any individual or family in need.

Thank you to Ohlone Humane Society for caring for our whole community, including pets!
