The Vine Foundation is currently assisting a local domestic violence survivor in URGENT need of housing for her and her children in the Santa Rosa Beach area.
Without sharing the details of her story, I want to emphasize that this woman has made stride after stride trying to rebuild her life and regain her independence. She has worked incredibly hard, made sacrifices most people will never see, and continued finding another way forward every single time a door has closed.
And yet, she continues to hit roadblock after roadblock.
Things that should have worked out haven’t. Circumstances created during years of abuse continue to follow her financially and make it incredibly difficult for her to secure the very things she needs in order to become fully independent.
We are looking for a private landlord, property owner, or housing connection willing to look beyond traditional credit requirements and consider the circumstances behind them. Someone willing to see the person and the work she has done to rebuild, rather than allowing a credit report alone to tell her story.
She is actively seeking employment and doing everything she can to create stability for herself and her children. She does not need someone to do the work for her. She needs an opportunity for all of the work she has already done to finally have somewhere to land.
