While humans may oftentimes struggle with understanding, the natural world simply does its thing.

Scientific research has long documented same-s*x s*xual behavior, courtship, and lifelong pair-bonding in over 1,500 animal species, ranging from insects to mammals. Dolphins, whales, swans, penguins, giraffes, lions, beetles, dragonflies... the list goes on and on.

Clownfish change their s*x. Male seahorses can give birth. Butterflies can exhibit both male and female genetic traits. The vast majority of all flowering plants have male and female reproductive organs. Slime molds have hundreds of s*xes, and split gill mushrooms have more than 23,000 biological s*xes!

Nature is incredibly diverse, as are humans. To those who may feel alone, please know you are always welcome here. We have always been inclusive, and are proud to live, work, and play in a community that embraces all walks of life.

🏳️‍⚧️💗🏳️‍🌈 The 7th annual Freeport Pride Stroll & Festival was a joyful and heartwarming celebration of love and identity in our small town!

Thank you to every single one of you—friends, family, volunteers, vendors, donors, sponsors, advocates, allies—none of this would be possible without this amazing, loving, supportive community we’ve built together. 💓

A huge congratulations to the first recipient of the George Wolfe Memorial Scholarship, Mickaela Sypulski, who proudly led the stroll! 🌟

TOMORROW!! 🌈✨💖💃🏻🕺🏻🪩🤸‍♀️🥳🎉

A few reminders:

🧘‍♂️ is hosting a donation-based yoga class at 11am

🏳️‍🌈 Festivities start at 12, and we stroll at 1

💵 Bring cash and cards for vendors and raffles (raffles are cash only)

🧊 Bottled water will be provided for free, other food and drinks available for purchase

🪑 Bring a chair to hang out at the park

☔️ Rain is expected during the festival, so dress accordingly and bring umbrellas. We will continue as planned unless there is lightning, high winds, or heavy rain. Watch our Instagram and pages for real time updates.
