We are so thankful that we had the honor of attending the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Legislative Breakfast as one of this year’s event sponsors. The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue on policy priorities and regional collaboration.

Representing the Fredericksburg Regional Military Affairs Council (MAC) were several of our board leaders - Bill Hession, MAC Treasurer; Joe Caliri, MAC Chairman; and John Burrow, MAC Vice Chairman. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with distinguished community partners, including Susan Spears of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, Senator Tara Durant of Virginia’s 27th District, and Delegate Josh Cole of Virginia’s 28th District, with whom we discussed key issues impacting our region.

We gratefully remain committed to supporting initiatives that enhance our region, uplift our military community, and reinforce the partnerships that make this work possible.

Last week, the Fredericksburg MAC brought together community, industry, and military leaders to share our next chapter - one grounded in our commitment to mobilizing, advancing, and connecting.

We’re strengthening partnerships, elevating regional defense priorities, and fostering a collaborative environment that supports our military, veterans, businesses, and the broader community. 👥

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this momentous occasion and to all of our supporters as we move forward into a strong and united 2026.🤝

This summer on June 13, members of the MAC Board of Directors had the honor of attending the Fort Walker 250th U.S. Army Celebration. Representing MAC, Treasurer Bill Hession met with Garrison Commander Lt. Col. Matthew Bauer, Command Sergeant Major Paul Jenkins, and Deputy Garrison Commander Mr. Alfred Scott Jr.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Bauer shared a powerful announcement: in recognition of Civil War heroism, Fort Walker will be renamed to honor Medal of Honor recipients Lt. Col. Edward Hill, 1st Sgt. Robert A. Pinn, and Pvt. Bruce Anderson.

At MAC, we believe in staying engaged with the community and recognizing the milestones that shape who we are. Events like this are a meaningful reminder of legacy, service, and connection.

The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake cutting by Lt. Col. Bauer and CSM Jenkins, joined by the youngest and oldest service members in attendance—a touching tribute to generations of dedication.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 6 months since our March 8, 2025 triad meeting with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine. The MAC, in partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance and the Chamber of Commerce, proudly presented a white paper highlighting the vital work being done at Dahlgren.

This moment was a powerful example of regional collaboration and advocacy in action—and we’re still building on that momentum today.

FXBG MAC proudly serves as a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization advocating for over 25 military commands at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Naval Base Dahlgren, Fort Walker, and the Virginia National Guard Fredericksburg.

Sponsored by the local defense industry, businesses, and private citizens, our mission is to promote and support the military presence in our region — strengthening national defense, uplifting military families, and boosting our local economy and community.

Joining MAC means being part of a powerful network that honors those who serve and helps build a stronger Fredericksburg.
