Visiting the Hill Country for its rich history and heritage? Looking to dive deeper into the culinary culture of Texas? Are you a player in the food scene wanting to go further and be a part of writing the history of Texas cuisine? Flavory is a center for culinary exploration, experimentation, and learning. Think of a cross between an educational lab and a dining room, with indoor/outdoor kitchens

and cooking spaces, with rooms for intimate dinners and big groups, labs and lounges. Because we learn best when we're comfortable and inspired, our atmosphere will be serious enough to get real training and skills but welcoming and relaxed enough for an evening out with friends sipping wine, beer whiskey or a cocktail (yum yā€™all).


3.Flavory is a portable feast. We host events wherever the tastes are growing or being made: ranches, gardens, BBQ pits, restaurant kitchens, wine cellars, even a hop trellis. Texas, food and beverages are the three needed ingredients, and you are along for the experience!

January is the Executive Director of Texas Hill Country Wineries where she leads consumer events, grower and winemaker education, fundraising, marketing and more for the association.

January is also an active member of Les Dames d'Escoffier Austin, Women For WineSense Texas Hill Country and FlavoryTX where she serves as Vice Chairman.

January says her favorite Texas wine is ā€œany Texas rosĆ© or sparkling wine any time of the year!ā€

Why January is Passionate about FlavoryTX- ā€œI am passionate about the mission of FlavoryTX to not only support continued education for the Texas wine industry but our partners in hospitality, culinary and other agricultural industries across Texas as well as educating the consumer about all things Farm to Table that Texas has to offer."

About Ed:

Ed is a Professor Emeritus of Viticulture at Texas Tech University and helped establish Texas Tech's undergraduate degree specialization in
Viticulture and Enology.

Ed also helped develop continuing education certificate programs in Viticulture, Winemaking, and Sustainable Small Farms.

Ed says his favorite wine is ā€œanything I haven't yet tasted. There are so many different and exciting Texas wines to taste, I love to try something new.ā€

Why Ed is passionate about FlavoryTX- "My career has been dedicated to grape and wine education so the FlavoryTX mission is a perfect fit for my lifelong passion for education. ā€œ

ā€œI am particularly excited about the Texas Tech partnership with FlavoryTX that seeks to develop a teaching winery and analytical service laboratory. These will greatly enhance Texas Tech's ability to provide outstanding educational programs and provide critical analytical services for the wine and craft beverage industries.ā€
