🚨 READ WITH CAUTION 🚨
Here’s the reality most AAU programs are not built for development. Rough estimate? About 90%+ are focused on playing, not improving.
Every weekend it’s the same cycle:
4–6 games. Minimal skill work. Repeat.
Then athletes come back to high school the same player they were in March same missed layups, same turnovers, same habits.
Playing more does NOT equal getting better.
Let that sink in‼️
Development happens in the work you don’t see:
• Skill training with purpose
• Conditioning your body
• Repetition with discipline
If you’re serious about your game, your off-season should look like this:
• Run 1.5 miles, 3x a week
• Make 50 free throws a day
• Make 250 game-speed shots a day
• Get in the gym with a real development trainer
Do the math over 6 months. That’s the difference between average and elite.
Parents be intentional about where you invest your time and money.
Athletes be honest about your work ethic.
Because at the next level, nobody is slowing down for you. It only gets harder.
So ask yourself:
Are you just playing… or are you actually getting better?
