Not every activity has to end up in the trash when you’re done.

This air-dry clay egg holder was simple to make, fun to decorate, and gives you something can actually use.

Using an egg carton as a mold, we shaped the clay, let it dry, and finished it with creativity. You can either paint or decorate it with the viral napkin and modge podge technique. The result? A one-of-a-kind egg holder that’s perfect for holding eggs, holding small treasures, or giving as a handmade gift.

Got leftover chicken in the fridge and no dinner plan?

This BBQ Chicken Casserole is what we call a Dinner Tonight Dump. Just mix everything together, pour it into a casserole dish, and let the oven do the work.

One of the best parts? It’s a great way to use leftover barbecue or rotisserie chicken and turn it into a whole new meal. And if you’re looking to add a few extra veggies, grate a zucchini into the mixture before baking. Most kids won’t even notice it’s there!

You’ll need:
1 lb Leftover chicken (or rotisserie chicken)
*Can use chicken tenders cut up and cooked during baking too!
1 cup BBQ sauce
1 cup rice
2 cup chicken broth
15 oz Black beans
1 cup vegetable (We used grated zucchini)
½ a Red onion
1.5 cups Cheddar cheese
½ t garlic powder
1/4t salt
1/4t black pepper
1 cup Crushed tortilla chips
✔ Green onions for topping

How to make it:
1️⃣Mix the chicken, BBQ sauce, corn/veggie, black beans, red onion, 1 cup cheese, and seasonings.
2️⃣Add rice and chicken broth in bottom of 9x13 casserole dish.
3️⃣Top with chicken mixture.
4️⃣Top with remaining cheese.
5️⃣Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes.
6️⃣Top with crushed tortilla chips and toast for 10-15 minutes.
Top with green onions and serve.

Emergencies happen and recent flooding has reminded us that it is important to have conversations with youth early so when phones don't work and you may not be able to communicate you can have piece of mind as a parent that you have had this conversation.

We really encourage you to start Table Talk with the question, hear your children's ideas and then discuss as a family. You never know your kids may have a great family emergency plan idea than you have never thought of!

Tonight, ask:
👉 "If we were ever faced with an emergency (might give examples that are realistic to your area), and phones weren't working what would you do?"

Use this conversation to talk about:
✅ A family meeting place
✅ Emergency contacts
✅ Trusted adults
✅ Working with first responders
✅ How to communicate if you're separated
✅ Basic safety plans

These conversations don't have to be scary. The goal isn't to have all the answers tonight. It's simply to start the discussion.

Save this question for dinner tonight and follow Activities with AgriLife for more Table Talk questions, family activities, and simple ways to connect.

After several days of rain, we were excited to see the sun peek out for a brief moment this afternoon. It gave us the perfect excuse to enjoy these homemade watermelon yogurt popsicles!

As communities across Texas continue to be impacted by recent flooding, we’re thinking of those affected and hope everyone is staying safe.

These popsicles are simple, refreshing, and a great way to let kids help in the kitchen. The natural sweetness of watermelon shines through, with creamy low-fat vanilla yogurt and just a touch of agave to bring it all together.

🍉 Watermelon Yogurt Popsicles

Ingredients
3 cups watermelon, cubed
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons agave nectar

Directions
Add watermelon, yogurt, and agave to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into popsicle molds.
Freeze for 4-6 hours, or until solid.

Enjoy a cool summer treat!

No popsicle molds - small plastic or paper cups work great too!
