Where do I sign up?

Yes, I am embracing AI because it has been here for few years now. Just how I learned MS Office in 1997, I will learn and adapt to AI. That’s how Gen X’s have always done it.

Happy National Accounting Day!

Working in Audit and accounting for the past two decades has allowed me to meet and work with great people, and most importantly it has given me financial stability.

I am looking forward to continuing my career journey as an entrepreneur, helping leaders build a successful business in South Philly and surrounding areas.

Happy Friday, everyone!

One of the benefits of entrepreneurship is to spend more time with my family.

In the past 23 years while working in Corporate America, I missed so many practices, soccer & volleyball games, and many more special occasions with my kids, but no more.

Entrepreneurship gives me the flexibility of working from anywhere. I get to choose when and how I work. This was possible after careful career planning, though. I already paid my dues.

Today, we celebrated the end of the first busy season with the Philadelphia Free Business Tax Preparation Program.

The program helps small businesses stay compliant with their local, state and federal taxes. We’re still taking applications.

Now that the first quarter of 2026 is behind us, it is time to analyze our budget and financial performance.

☑️ Are sales lower than expected?

☑️ what expenses need to be analyzed because they were higher than anticipated, what caused this variance?

☑️ Stay compliant with regulators and taxes. You shouldn’t pay penalties and interest on taxes. These expenses quickly add up. Accrue a tax liability of 25%-30% of net profit to cover for local, state and federal taxes.

☑️ Accrue for sales tax, 6% in PA and an additional 2% if sales are in Philadelphia. If you collect tax, you must remit to Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

☑️ Do you need a loan? Have your financial statements and tax returns ready.

***Important Tax Change Coming After 2025***

Per the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) signed in July 2025, the 50% deduction for employer-provided on-site meals will be phased out to 0% starting January 1, 2026.

Key Meal Deduction Rules for 2025
50% Deductible Meals: Business lunches with clients/prospects, meals while traveling for business, and food for board meetings are 50% deductible, provided they are not lavish and business is discussed.

Employer-Provided Meals: Meals provided on-premises for the convenience of the employer (e.g., in a company cafeteria or during overtime) remain 50% deductible through Dec. 31, 2025.

100% Deductible Events: Food and beverage expenses for recreational, social, or similar activities (including entertainment) that are primarily for the benefit of employees (like a holiday party) are 100% deductible, assuming they are not exclusively for highly compensated employees.

Substantiation: Expenses must be properly documented, showing the business purpose, date, cost, and people involved.
