Last week, several Betties volunteered at this same location. While we were serving, Women Build invited those Betties to join them for tonight’s event as guests.

Tonight was not a working event for us. We were invited back to enjoy the evening, connect with the Women Build community, and support Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity.

Women Build brings women together to build stronger communities and help create safe, affordable homes. We are so grateful for the invitation and proud to support another nonprofit doing meaningful work right here in our community.

We also brought a little Bettie flair to the evening. Luna Von Gogh brought her pink hard hat fascinator, which was created for the hard hat decorating competition and won Best Use of Pink. 💗🏆

Serving in Style… Caribbean Nights edition! 🌺🥃

The Betties in the Burg had the pleasure of volunteering at Wh***ey Business: Caribbean Nights, a fabulous evening benefiting Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation.

Luna Von Gogh and Madame MayBelle Claws worked the VIP experience, pouring rum tastings and keeping the island spirit flowing, while Penny Pumpkins and MaryJane Cash welcomed guests and kept registration running smoothly.

Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation is creating a culture of action by teaching Hands-Only CPR and AED use, placing AEDs in businesses and public spaces, raising awareness about cardiac arrest, and supporting scholarships. Their work gives ordinary people the knowledge and confidence to step in and help save a life when every second matters.

We were far too busy serving to post that night. But we couldn’t let these wonderful memories go unshared! Thank you to everyone who organized, attended, supported, and gave to such an important cause. We were honored to play a small part in an evening with a truly lifesaving purpose. ❤️

📍 Help Us Find a Meeting Space!

Betties in the Burg is looking for a welcoming meeting space in or around downtown Fredericksburg for our monthly club meetings.

We are hoping to find a space that:

❤️ Accommodates approximately 15 to 20 people
⚓ Is available on Sunday afternoons, preferably the first Sunday of each month
🤍 Offers enough privacy for club discussions
⭐ Is accessible and has convenient parking nearby
❤️ Is prepared to safely accommodate someone with a seafood allergy
⚓ Is donated, community sponsored, or reasonably priced

We would love to partner with a local business, nonprofit, community organization, studio, or venue that believes in supporting women and community service.

✨ Be Like… Della Pearl! ✨

Today, we introduced a new Betties in the Burg tradition called “Be Like a Bettie.” Each month, we will recognize a Bettie whose actions reflect the qualities we want our club to represent: service, initiative, consistency, dependability and a willingness to support others.

We are so excited to recognize Della Pearl as our very first recipient!

Della volunteered to take ownership of our supply drives and continues to organize them for the causes we support. She has never missed a meeting and is always willing to step in and do whatever is needed.

Della does not simply offer ideas. She shows up, follows through and gets the work done.

When it comes to serving our community and supporting her fellow Betties…

When Luna Von Gogh shows up to support a good cause, she does it in style! 😂🎨

Our President represented Betties in the Burg at the Beards in the Burg competition, a fundraiser supporting the Downtown Dolls, and took home BEST in the Whiskerina competition! 🏆

Of course, Luna’s beard had to reflect the artist behind the name, complete with colorful paint and paintbrushes woven throughout!

We were proud to show up, have some fun, and support another group of women working to make a difference in our community. Congratulations to all the contestants, and thank you to everyone who made the event possible!

Serving in Style means showing up and supporting others who serve our community! ❤️

Our President, Luna Von Gogh, was at Beards in the Burg today supporting the Downtown Dolls and competing in the Whiskerina competition with a beard only an artist could create, complete with paintbrushes! 🎨😂

We were proud to support their fundraiser and cheer on everyone who participated. Community is stronger when we show up for one another!
