💛❤️💚 Honoring Juneteenth 💚❤️💛

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, the day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. While the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863, freedom did not reach all enslaved people until June 19, 1865, when news arrived in Texas.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, culture, and progress. It is also a time for reflection, education, and appreciation for the contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history.

At Betties in the Burg, we believe in the power of community, inclusion, and lifting one another up. Today, we honor the significance of Juneteenth and encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, reflect, and celebrate.

Meet Lacey Homemaker

How long have you been a Bettie?
Since the beginning. I helped set the tone and the standard.

What made you join Betties in the Burg?
I was raised by a woman who taught me that service is a lifestyle, not a performance. Joining the Betties let me honor her example while pouring that same intention, compassion, and community care into Fredericksburg.

What does being a Bettie mean to you?
Sisterhood with substance. Showing up for each other. Moving with purpose. Holding space, holding standards, and holding each other accountable in the most beautiful way.

Favorite way to serve the community?
Fundraisers and hands‑on volunteering. I like to be where the impact is immediate and the connection is real.

Go‑to glam vibe?
Soft vintage, classic pinup, and homemaker glam. The kind that looks effortless because I don’t lower my standards.

Current hype song:

A reminder that every day is a chance to rise and radiate.

Motto you live by:
“Compromise? Compromise for what!” — Eartha Kitt
A woman should never shrink herself to make others comfortable.

Fun fact about you:
I do real estate staging, interior design, and I’m the perfect feminist housewife, burning bras and serving tea with a smile that says “I said what I said.”

How long have you been a Bettie?: Since the beginning!

What made you join Betties in the Burg?
I wanted to be a part of a community that’s all about giving back! Its also nice to follow in my Mom’s footsteps who has set an example for me to always be there and care for others.

What does being a Bettie mean to you?
It means friendship, community, and having each others backs

Favorite way to serve the community?
I think fundraisers and volunteering is the most direct way to serve and assist the community.

Go-to glam vibe?
I’m still learning my style, but I love the soft vintage and classic pinup look!
