It truly takes a village to support a growing family—and today, we took another step toward rebuilding it. I had the honor of speaking at Frederick (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc Nurturing Our Future: A Breastfeeding Awareness Initiative held Frederick Health. My presentation, “Rebuilding the Village,” focused on the vital intersection of continuous postpartum support, doula care, and lactation guidance—and why every parent deserves a strong safety net.
🫶🏽What many might not know is that beyond my leadership work in the community, I am also a trained doula Chosen Helpers. Walking alongside families during these transformative moments is at the heart of everything I do. When we pair clinical resources with hands-on, culturally congruent doula care, we empower parents, improve health outcomes, and truly restore the community support systems our families need to thrive.
