Interested in what the City of Frederick is working on as it relates to Single Room Occupancy ordinances? Council Vice President Nash is proposing amendments to the Land Management Code (LMC) to establish a new land use of Group Housing, more particularly described as Personal Living Quarters. They typically feature small, private furnished rooms with shared communal facilities. The main benefits include cost-effectiveness, low-barrier leasing, and simplified living. The final report is here! After months of research, analysis, working group discussion, and community input, the Mayor's Affordable Housing Task Force has released its final report, outlining findings and recommendations to address the City of Frederick's housing needs.

The Affordable Housing Task Force brings together City staff, community partners, and housing experts to identify strategies that expand housing options and address housing needs in Frederick.
