Urbana STEMM chemistry workshop concluded today. UHS student volunteers led the program and very effectively engaged middle schoolers students with hands on activities, chemistry basics and some fun hands on activities and final Jeopardy. Congratulations to team "chicken curry " for scoring 2000 points and winning the team competition. We celebrated all studnets effort with certificate of participation and pizza party :) our biotool program is starting next Saturday !!

Urbana STEMM middle schoolers made bones using paper and isolated their own DNA :))

Chemistry : today middle schoolers learned about acids and base. They checked it out using different veg and fruits and milk characteristics and created a rainbow using them. Tried cabbage, cucumber, lemon, milk fanta, baking soda , soap etc.

In preparation for the upcoming Biotools classes, students prepared in house DNA molecular weight marker , lane 1 standards commercial marker, lane 2-4 , in house prep.

FREE Foldme classes in Urbana Library today.
Students learning about muscle group, how they function and making muscle fibres using paper and scissors..
They learned muscle can only "PULL" and two muscle groups work together to do any movement.
Heart muscles are amazing , they "NEVER REST" and Never get tired 😯😯

Chemistry experience: students will learn about covalent bonds, and polymer chemistry.
Glue reacting with Borax will create cross linked polymer that looks like slime..:))
