Louisiana Junior Marksmanship Training Program

This will be a fun format. These are some of the same matches held at Camp Perry.

As of now we have commitments from seven Louisiana Juniors for these matches!!

June 19th and 20th LSA/Palo Alto will hold two days of high power rifle matches to include a Garand Springfield Modern Military match, two man team match, 30 shot president’s course match, and an EIC match. These matches will be held Friday and Saturday.

We would to thank our old friend and shooter, Jim Smiley, for his generous donation to the program. Among many items we received a fine Kowa scope, Ray Vin stand, and complete cart.

It is much appreciated and everything will be put to good use with the next generation of shooters.

Our juniors represented the marksmanship program well

SLHP promotes marksmanship and the safe use of fi****ms through High Power Rifle Competition.

We had a great weekend at Golden Triangle Gun Club in Beaumont.

Mason and Cody represented the Louisiana Junior Rifle Team and shot very well. I believe some new classification cards will be in the mail.

Thank you to the Texas Junior Rifle Team, Kristen Morton, Sarah, Blackston, Kevin, and everyone who helped with the match.

It is great to see so many juniors at one match.

Good luck to all the 4H state competitors this week, especially those from St Mary Parish.

And an extra good luck to Brody, Deuce, Mason, and Parker who participate in our High Power Matches also.

Three of our junior shooters participated in this match and shot well. I am very proud of our young shooters.

This week the 4H regional matches for NRA 3 Position, CMP Rimfire Sporter, and Rimfire Silhouette were held at the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Range in Gonzales.

Several of the St. Mary Parish 4H competitors also participate in the Louisiana Junior High Power program. They had a great week in Gonzales.

Deuce—First iron sights by a wide margin

Brody—First Sr Scope almost 50% of his shots were Xs

Brody—First in 3P in his division shot in the rain

Mason—First in Jr scope with 104 competitors

Parker—5th overall in Jr scope with 104 competitors.

Brody—Second in Silhouette Sr. Division

Mason—First in Silhouette Jr. Division

Parker—Fifth In Silhouette Jr. Division
