🐾 FERGUSON’S STORY: RESCUE IS RARELY BLACK AND WHITE. 🐾
As with most cases in rescue, there’s rarely one clear-cut answer.
When Guidry’s Guardian Foundation first learned about Ferguson, we were told he had been left in a crate without food or water after his family received evacuation orders during the Southern California fires. 💔
As we investigated, we learned there was much more to the story.
We were told that a 17-year-old girl and her 19-year-old friend originally pulled Ferguson from a shelter without parental permission. The family was subsequently contacted and made it clear they did not want him.
Ferguson was also reportedly involved in two neighborhood incidents where he got away from his teenage handler and jumped on people out of excitement, NOT aggression.
LET US BE CLEAR: FERGUSON IS NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DOG.
He’s a young German Shepherd who needs structure, training, consistency, and someone experienced with the breed.
We are now working to obtain a signed owner surrender form. At GGF, we do everything by the book, and we must be legally certain we have permission to take him into our care.
❤️ THE GOOD NEWS? FERGUSON IS SAFE!
Our priority is securing a stable, long-term foster home until we find him the forever family he deserves. What we absolutely refuse to do is send him back to a home where he isn’t wanted.
