Thanks to cancer research, there are currently more than 18.6 million people living with a history of cancer in the United States. Each person diagnosed with cancer faces a unique set of challenges, but 1 in 4 survivors reports a poor physical quality of life, and many experience psychosocial challenges. We need to do better.

AACR celebrates survivors and encourages those touched by cancer to discover how research is improving outcomes and saving lives.

Skin cancer is a very common cancer in the United States. More than 6 million people receive such a diagnosis each year. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, which are nonmelanoma skin cancers, are the most common types of skin cancer. Nonmelanoma skin cancers rarely spread to other parts of the body.

An estimated 5 million people in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with skin cancer this year, including around 100,000 with melanoma.

Doctors will diagnose cancers of the brain or central nervous system in about 24,740 people in the United States in 2026, according to the National Cancer Institute (NCI). These cancers make up a portion of more than 94,000 brain tumors (including benign tumors) that occur each year in the U.S.

A simple and cost-effective blood test might be able to help detect multiple cancers and other diseases, a new study says.

The test works by analyzing DNA fragments in a person’s bloodstream and could offer a powerful and affordable approach to screening for cancer and other health problems, researchers reported April 6 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Last night was nothing short of inspiring.

We had the pleasure to meet 2 beautiful people — one who shared their journey living through cancer, and one living through their new life without their partner.

Steven — wow, what a pleasure to spend this precious time with you and share your journey. Nothing's gonna stop you. I was taken away by your strength and passion. I just want to give you a big hug and thank you for reminding me that we still have control with our lives. I'm so excited that you want to pursue a support group in Chattanooga through Miracle Workers Foundation. 🙌

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up last night. Your presence made all the difference.

Cancer of the te**is, or testicular cancer, is a relatively uncommon disease. It accounts for about 0.5% of all the cancers diagnosed in the United States every year. In 2025, according to estimates by the National Cancer Institute, about 9,720 men were diagnosed with testicular cancer, and about 600 died from it.

More than 9,000 men living in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with testicular cancer this year. Learn more about testicular cancer.
