We are an action-oriented group that works collectively to address community-wide gaps, garner community support, and expand the capacity of member organizations to better serve the needs of the community. Vision
To ensure that every person in Frankfort has all the supports they need to thrive and be successful. We do this by being a strong network of agencies who collaborate on shared goals and v

alues, hold each other accountable, provide financial support for community services, and increase access to services for the good of the community. Values
Transparency; Accountability; Respect; Open and Clear Communication; Collaboration and Coordination; Non-Judgmental; and Teamwork. Purpose
The purpose of the Frankfort CARES Coalition is to support and strengthen organizations who are ensuring access to shelter, food, healthcare, mental health assistance, affordable housing, substance use disorder treatment, and other basic needs and opportunities for individuals in our community. We intend to be an action-oriented group that works collectively to address community-wide gaps, garner community support, and expand the capacity of member organizations to better serve the needs of the community. Our work includes the following goals and objectives:

Homelessness Prevention- to reduce homelessness by identifying and addressing social service gaps, including, but not limited to, emergency shelter and temporary housing in the county and city. We will prioritize working together to improve access to these services. Affordable Housing- to increase Franklin County's access to fair housing by identifying community housing partners and establishing accessible housing opportunities. Community Advocacy- to educate the community on the importance of its social service agencies by creating coordinated messaging, developing shared public outreach materials, and conducting public awareness campaigns. Agency Support- to better equip agency staff and board members by identifying shared needs and locating resources, trainings and other opportunities for all member agencies.

As a return to dry weather takes hold of the area today, heat and very high humidity will also build into the region. Afternoon peak heat index values will climb into the 95 to 105 F range for a few hours this afternoon. Drink plenty of water, wear light and loose clothing, and take frequent breaks if planning to be outdoors for extended periods of time.
