Frankfort CARES Mission
The Frankfort CARES Coalition supports community agencies by providing resources, support, and advocacy for local member organizations.

We are an action-oriented group that works collectively to address community-wide gaps, garner community support, and expand the capacity of member organizations to better serve the needs of the community. Vision
To ensure that every person in Frankfort has all the supports they need to thrive and be successful. We do this by being a strong network of agencies who collaborate on shared goals and v

alues, hold each other accountable, provide financial support for community services, and increase access to services for the good of the community. Values
Transparency; Accountability; Respect; Open and Clear Communication; Collaboration and Coordination; Non-Judgmental; and Teamwork. Purpose
The purpose of the Frankfort CARES Coalition is to support and strengthen organizations who are ensuring access to shelter, food, healthcare, mental health assistance, affordable housing, substance use disorder treatment, and other basic needs and opportunities for individuals in our community. We intend to be an action-oriented group that works collectively to address community-wide gaps, garner community support, and expand the capacity of member organizations to better serve the needs of the community. Our work includes the following goals and objectives:

Homelessness Prevention- to reduce homelessness by identifying and addressing social service gaps, including, but not limited to, emergency shelter and temporary housing in the county and city. We will prioritize working together to improve access to these services. Affordable Housing- to increase Franklin County's access to fair housing by identifying community housing partners and establishing accessible housing opportunities. Community Advocacy- to educate the community on the importance of its social service agencies by creating coordinated messaging, developing shared public outreach materials, and conducting public awareness campaigns. Agency Support- to better equip agency staff and board members by identifying shared needs and locating resources, trainings and other opportunities for all member agencies.

Such great news for our Executive Director Rachel Moore and William Joseph Crisis Nursery !

CRISIS NURSERY OPENING: Kentucky's first crisis nursery is set to open in Frankfort in October, offering families a safe place for children to stay for up to 30 days while parents work through difficult circumstances.

Rachel Moore, CEO and founder of the William Joseph Crisis Nursery, said the facility is designed to keep children out of the foster care system during family crises. "So this is just a safe place where families can come no matter what they're going through so that they can receive love and support without judgement," Moore said.

Frankfort CARES purchased both a new washer and dryer for Josh Russell and his family. Josh was flooded out of his home in Walter Todd and relocated to Capital Plaza with other flood victims before finding another apartment. CARES used the Frankfort Strong Flood funds to provide him with a washer and dryer. As usual Joey's Appliance Warehouse (Joey's Warehouse) provided excellent service and assistance as they have for previous appliances for flood victims.
